Celebrity Style: Masaba Gupta During Her Wedding Celebrations
November 23, 20150 Comments
Masaba Gupta's wedding
Famous Indian based designer Masaba Gupta tied the knot with Film producer Madhu Mantena officially a few months back and chose this month to celebrate the same with close family and friends. The celebrations kicked off a a friends place in JUhu and lasted for three day.Her outfits she sported at her wedding, reception, Mehendi , bridal shower and sangeet came as a surprise. She wore the most weird looking clothes to her wedding celebrations. We all know she is a designer but that doesn’t mean you dress up in lackluster clothes. Most of the outfits she chose to be spotted in were shouting ‘ JUST FOR THE RAMP’, which made me think if she broke up wit her BFF , I mean if all goes wrong there is always your bestie who would point out what is wrong and weddings are something were your friends advice you the most.
She  is youthful quirky apparel designer and selecting the same quirky clothes to wear on her wedding was a bad decision from the start. Congratulations to the newly wed but I do wish Masaba had chosen for bridal clothing instead of trying to look different on her own wedding. Many other celebrities in attendance to the wedding celebrations wore better clothes than the bride and bridegroom!
Masaba in Anamika Khanna - Wedding Reception Outfit

Masaba Gupta reception
I love Anamika Khanna outfits but Masaba choose this hideous outfit from all those pretty Anamika Khanna designs for her reception! Everything about the look is wrong, the hair the bust fit , the jacket is worst !
And not the bridegroom won’t be spared either! He should have put in a little extra effort to look good on a reception. Black on black looks dull and its an outfit my brother would have chosen to wear at a family function , forget a  reception !

Masaba Gupta In her Own Designs – Bridal Shower Outfit

The outfit looked more of a party look than a bridal shower one. The polka dotted top with a retro effect was a downer itself and the pants look boxy on her. A total nay from us !
Masaba in Sanjay Garg – Sangeet Outift
Masaba at her sangeet
Masaba Gupta sangeet
The only outfit I found pretty was the one she donned on her Sangeet, maybe it’s the color, it looks pretty on her. The hairstyle could have been better but there is no doubt this is dream outfit for many .
Masaba Gupta in Her own designs- Mehendi Outfit

We would have preferred some color for a mehendi outing . The white kurti along with the matchy sharara (or is that a lehenga?) just don’t work here. But it is a nice outfit considering the other disastrous outfits she chose to wear.
What do you think of her clothes, are they fit for a bride ? Yay or a nay? tell us!
Until next time

Best Designer Anarkali SuitsTo Make Your festive Season Special
August 22, 20150 Comments
We have all wanted to look like Disney princesses at some point of time or the other. Remember the days when you read about Cinderella becoming a princess with a beautiful gown and you always wanted to dress up like her at every party of fancy dress competition? Those days can be relived now with designer salwar suits being given the look of princess like gowns. You may look like a royal Indian princess with Indian fabric and embroideries and also end up looking like a character out of some fairy tale because of smart western touches in ethnic wears.
Here’s a tip for you all: When you wish to have a look like some character out of a fairy tale, choose designer anarkali suits with minimum zari embroidery and golden work. White stone work or thread work goes great for that look. Skip the dupatta and accessorize instead with princess braids and buns and hair bands. Bring in the rich fabric, heavy embroidery and zari embellishments when you want a typically royal Indian look.

The georgette anarkali with a twisted hemline is one to look out for. You may have seen nothing like this ever. Forget the evening gowns and embrace the beauty of Indian fashion with this stunning blue Anarkali. The full sleeved Anarkali is given a Western look with the minimum flare, gown like cut and baggy right half of the torso section. The left half and the left sleeve has mesmerizing golden machine work that can secure all gazes on you alone. The dupatta even is not needed here as the suit itself is drop dead gorgeous and marvelously creative and unthinkable.

Thread work is one of the classiest embroidery invented in India. It can give any outfit a royal, classy outlook and the same happens with this cyan, floor-length Anarkali suit. The huge flare makes this look like some good old European gown meant for princesses and royal ladies. The royal attitude is given an Indian touch with thin and intricate white thread embroidery all over the sleeves and bosom section. The lower half that spreads out stands beautiful in a soothing yet royal cyan shade. The hemline is once again bordered by white thread work that gives it an amazing outline. Skip the dupatta and team this up with pearls or diamonds and tie up your hair in a bouffant or top knot for the perfect princess like look.

Blue, black and gold combine here for a stunningly marvelous look. Black and gold is a regal combination and the addition of royal blue makes things even more majestic. The black sleeves and torso with deep and intricate golden embroidery gives the Anarkali a highly gorgeous appeal. The section that spreads out like a skirt is kept plain to make the embroidered section stand out. The hemline that touches the floor has another wide panel of black with intricate golden embroidery. Overall, this one is a stunning suit that can end your indecision when you are confused about what to wear for the wedding ceremony coming up.

Conclusion: Anarkalis are a variation of the Salwar kameez where the kameez spreads out like a long skirt. Anarkalis have turned out to be really versatile ethnic items. They can be plain and simple in medium flares till the knees or heavily gorgeous, extending till the feet. They may also have a western touch like a gown.

What To Wear To A Wedding ? - 8 Must Haves !
August 08, 20150 Comments
Must haves for every wedding occasion
With India ranking second among the most populated you can understand when every other day is a wedding day here ! Indians be like ‘kal uski shadi, pasrso uski mama ki beti ki shadi , narso uske chacha ke aunty ke cosuin ki shadi hai ! ‘ Phew !!! Am I complaining ? Hell no ! Free food and well dressed men women in sparkling outfits is a sight to the eyes , I love weddings. But we have the whose and whose wedding we are going to attend. With so many of them marrying we have several marriages to attend and dressing up for them would be a pain if you do not have the right accessories !
There is no doubt the most important part of getting dressed for attending a wedding is a dress but lets talk about all the other things which follow after the dress! It could be that cute little clutch or that glossy handbag that holds all our makeup and cell phones , or it could be the right lipstick or even the right accessories .
Make sure you understand the do’s and don’ts while dressing up for a wedding. It’s very important to choose the perfect purse and accessories which requires some thought beforehand so you don’t find yourself wishing you had made a different choice. Here I am listing the top eight must have’s for every woman to own to look her best at every wedding she is attending !
1. Clutch or a Potli :
Blingy clutches go hand in hand with an elegant and simple non blingy dress ! You are not the bride so remember not to wear an over the top dress and stop yourself from being a disaster like Divya Khosla !Clutches in bold black, studded clutches or clutches that are eye catchy make or break a look . Hence its very important you choose the right clutch while going out for a wedding!
The potli is in the trend now, the best thing about them is you don’t have to clutch them but let fall gracefully from your wrist ! I think Sonam Kapoor and Diya Mirza are two Bollywood beauties who other than Rekha Ma’am carry the Potli trend with ease !

2. Makeup - Go The Red way ! : By going the red way I don’t mean you to paint yourself into red from head to toe. But red is one color that will set you apart and give you the wedding wali feeling . Its okay to go nude when you are into too much bling but for those who keep it subtle a red lipstick or maybe red colored nails will add the required punch to your look altogether! You can also get a red bindi with the help of your red color sindoor liquid applier or ! My favorite red makeup outing is my NYX Amsterdam Lip cream !
Oriflame  Cute bindis
NYX lipcream  Loreal paris lipstick
3. Rings : Accessories add a unique touch to your whole outfit but even one too many can be over-the-top with an already-embellished heavy lehengas or Banaras sarees ! Hence a huge ring or four finger ring or a two finger ring will complete your look and grab a lot of eye balls !
two finger rings
4. Jhumkis : An Indian outfit is incomplete without a pair of earrings! If you are opting for a gown which is blingy then I suggest that be your only time to skip earrings or don’t skip even then , wear an ear cuff! Now that the guests at an Indian wedding are mostly seen in designer lehengas and heavy worked or sweet anarkali’s a pair of jhumkis add the needed beauty touch to your whole look! Invest in a good pair of gold Jhumkas or just get yourself some awesome pieces of jhumkas from artificial jewelry range!
Silver jhumkis

5. Bangles or Bracelets : I always go wow when I see Deepika Padkone or Sonam wearing bangles with their sarees and ethnic wear ! Bangles beautify your hands but just remember not to over do it. Glass bangles, or simple gold kadas or a simple bracelet will work your look !

6. Shoes or Juttis: The right pair of shoes will complete your whole look . Just remember not to go hard on your feet by wearing uncomfortable heels or sky high wedges because a wedding means a lot of walking and standing! Also remember not to always match your footwear with your dress , you don't want to look too matchy-matchy. If you want to take the traditional route or the comfy route then you can simply opt for a pair of juttis ! :D

7. Mang Tika Or Nethi Chutti : Whoever said mang tikkas were only for the bride? gone are the days were only the bride was spotted adorning a mang tikka, thanks to our bollywood beauties who have got back in the trend! From Big pendant mang tikkas , to kundan and polki to pearly ones to single strand attached mang tikkas we have a plethora of choices ! Don’t shy away from trying them out , it’s the one thing that will set you apart from the others!

8. Flowers : Indian weddings are so much better than western wedding. The drama, the dresses, the music, the laughter and Yes the flowers ! no I am not talking about all the flower attractions in a wedding hall but the use of flowers by bride’s and all the guests attending the wedding. In south India I witnessed almost all women in their 40’s with mogra flowers around their buns . draped in a Banaras saree along with flowers adorned on their heads they make an elegant picture! As for those who want to try something new with the flowers you can wear them spun around your fishtail braids or even as a hand harness! Roses and lilies also can be used instead of mogra flowers.

Let me know if I missed anything in the comments or maybe you would like to add something to the must have list :)

Sister of the bride Style: Gauhar Khan
July 30, 20150 Comments
When television star Gauhar Khan's sister Nigaar khan recently tied the knot in a destination wedding in Dubai we were treated to some amazingly fresh and fun ethnic outfits . The bride looked every bit gorgeous but what caught our attention really was the brides sister Gauhar Khan who kept her all her looks simple yet stylish. All sisters of Bride to be take note, this is serious style inspiration .

A mint green Ashtha Narang creation was what Gauhar opted for the Mehendi cum sangeet of her sister . Minimal accessories and open side swept  hair completed the simple look. The colour  with subtle gold shimmer works beautifully for the sister of bride for Mehendi .

You can buy similar Astha Narang Creations at pernias pop up shop here  and here

For the Nikaah Gauhar decked up in Surendri by Yogesh Chaudhary pink and gold lehenga and accesoried the look with huge chand type bali earrings, bangles  and matha patti. The Make up was perfect and adding drama with a matha patti is a nice touch and good that she skipped neck jewellery too .

#ShahidKiShaadi - Shahid Kapoor Weds Mira Rajput
July 23, 20150 Comments
There has been a lot going on with our life offline in the past month all thanks to Ramazan. While we were busy shopping, fasting , praying, iftaar parties and preparing for eid the chocolate boy of bollywood tied the knot to Delhi girl Mira Rajput in a not so fat wedding .

I know iam really late to cover this wedding but Mira Rajputs  choice of clothes for all her wedding ceremonies are simply amazing and i HAD to talk about them all .

Only close friends were invited to Shahid Kapoor's marriage. (Photo: Waseem Gashroo/ HT)

Lets start with their love story. Shahid kapoor and Mira Rajput 21, who just graduated from LSR college reportedly met at a Radha Soami Satsang which both their families follow.  How bollywoodish is that now? To add to things every time i look at a Mira Rajput Photo i find her more and more similar to Amrita Rao. what do you think? The wedding for fairly simple considering it was the most awaited bollywood wedding and i love how subtle Mira kept her outfits.

Mehendi cum sangeet  : Mira Rajput kept it simple and breezy  in an Yellow and peach Anita Dongre lehenga choli . Mira dint go overboard with floral jewellery and i love her tikka here.

Haldi Cum Kalire ceremony : Mira sure loves yellows and pinks. For haldi she wore a yellow kurta with white plazzos and mogra tiara and haar .

The Anand Karaj : Shahid and Mira took vows in an Anand Karaj ceremony and for this Mira was spotted in apale pink and green gota patti salwar suit.  Mira kept the jewellery to minimum here and again opted for her pretty Mang Tikka.

Post wedding Party : I say post wedding party because the couple did not take any pheras in the lehenga, also Shahid and Mira had two separate receptions later on . For this occasion Mira chose a pink Anamika Lehenga which is  my favorite outfit from her entire wedding. It was simple , elegant and fresh. The styling was perfect with double dupattas, navratna haar, jhoomar , pink choodas, hair in a floral bun  and soft Make up .  I love love this whole look and Boy does Mira have amazing choice? She definitely is the next Fashionista of India. Shahid looked equally amazing in his white kurta. They made for a lovely couple.

The couple was spotted with yellow rose jaimalas . how cool is that? I prefer to genda and mogra haars anyday.

Here's a pic from their varmala ceremony from Tuesday morning.

Delhi Reception: For the Delhi Reception Mira wore a pastel Anamika Khanna creation . This look featuring a gown with cape detailing was pretty modern and Kudos to Mira for taking the risk. I love capes but cape on a saree would have taken things to a whole new level , this gown + cape isnt my cup of tea though .

Mumbai Reception : For the Grand finale of sorts for this most talked about wedding of the year Mira Rajput chose Manish Malhotra white lehenga with blue embroidery on it. Pairing the lehenga with a crop top and just nirav modi earrings Mira was a vision of subtleness, confidence and simplicity . The Lehenga which was part of Manish Malhotreas latest Blue Runway collection dint find a fan in me and i definitely dint think of it to be bridal but Mira provesit all wrong and wears it so well.

First look at her outfit and i instantly missed a dupatta . May be she could add some bangles or even a bindi to her look but the more i look at her , i less i mind her non bridal ensemble. She looked amazing and it was her day lets give it to her for sticking to her individual style and loading herself with jewellery and bling .
As for Shahid he wore a Kunal Rawal tuxedo and bow tie. I wish he could match the bride better witrh a blue bow  , but well they looked fabulous togethera nd that is all that matters.

I think Keeping things simple all along worked well in Mira Rajputs favour and she stood out as one of the most elegant celebrity brides. Which bridal outfit of hers are you loving the most?
