With India ranking second among the most populated you can understand when every other day is a wedding day here ! Indians be like ‘kal uski shadi, pasrso uski mama ki beti ki shadi , narso uske chacha ke aunty ke cosuin ki shadi hai ! ‘ Phew !!! Am I complaining ? Hell no ! Free food and well dressed men women in sparkling outfits is a sight to the eyes , I love weddings. But we have the whose and whose wedding we are going to attend. With so many of them marrying we have several marriages to attend and dressing up for them would be a pain if you do not have the right accessories !
There is no doubt the most important part of getting dressed for attending a wedding is a dress but lets talk about all the other things which follow after the dress! It could be that cute little clutch or that glossy handbag that holds all our makeup and cell phones , or it could be the right lipstick or even the right accessories .
Make sure you understand the do’s and don’ts while dressing up for a wedding. It’s very important to choose the perfect purse and accessories which requires some thought beforehand so you don’t find yourself wishing you had made a different choice. Here I am listing the top eight must have’s for every woman to own to look her best at every wedding she is attending !
1. Clutch or a Potli :
Blingy clutches go hand in hand with an elegant and simple non blingy dress ! You are not the bride so remember not to wear an over the top dress and stop yourself from being a disaster like Divya Khosla !Clutches in bold black, studded clutches or clutches that are eye catchy make or break a look . Hence its very important you choose the right clutch while going out for a wedding!
The potli is in the trend now, the best thing about them is you don’t have to clutch them but let fall gracefully from your wrist ! I think Sonam Kapoor and Diya Mirza are two Bollywood beauties who other than Rekha Ma’am carry the Potli trend with ease !



2. Makeup - Go The Red way ! : By going the red way I don’t mean you to paint yourself into red from head to toe. But red is one color that will set you apart and give you the wedding wali feeling . Its okay to go nude when you are into too much bling but for those who keep it subtle a red lipstick or maybe red colored nails will add the required punch to your look altogether! You can also get a red bindi with the help of your red color sindoor liquid applier or ! My favorite red makeup outing is my NYX Amsterdam Lip cream !
3. Rings : Accessories add a unique touch to your whole outfit but even one too many can be over-the-top with an already-embellished heavy lehengas or Banaras sarees ! Hence a huge ring or four finger ring or a two finger ring will complete your look and grab a lot of eye balls !

4. Jhumkis : An Indian outfit is incomplete without a pair of earrings! If you are opting for a gown which is blingy then I suggest that be your only time to skip earrings or don’t skip even then , wear an ear cuff! Now that the guests at an Indian wedding are mostly seen in designer lehengas and heavy worked or sweet anarkali’s a pair of jhumkis add the needed beauty touch to your whole look! Invest in a good pair of gold Jhumkas or just get yourself some awesome pieces of jhumkas from artificial jewelry range!


5. Bangles or Bracelets : I always go wow when I see Deepika Padkone or Sonam wearing bangles with their sarees and ethnic wear ! Bangles beautify your hands but just remember not to over do it. Glass bangles, or simple gold kadas or a simple bracelet will work your look !


6. Shoes or Juttis: The right pair of shoes will complete your whole look . Just remember not to go hard on your feet by wearing uncomfortable heels or sky high wedges because a wedding means a lot of walking and standing! Also remember not to always match your footwear with your dress , you don't want to look too matchy-matchy. If you want to take the traditional route or the comfy route then you can simply opt for a pair of juttis ! :D


7. Mang Tika Or Nethi Chutti : Whoever said mang tikkas were only for the bride? gone are the days were only the bride was spotted adorning a mang tikka, thanks to our bollywood beauties who have got back in the trend! From Big pendant mang tikkas , to kundan and polki to pearly ones to single strand attached mang tikkas we have a plethora of choices ! Don’t shy away from trying them out , it’s the one thing that will set you apart from the others!

8. Flowers : Indian weddings are so much better than western wedding. The drama, the dresses, the music, the laughter and Yes the flowers ! no I am not talking about all the flower attractions in a wedding hall but the use of flowers by bride’s and all the guests attending the wedding. In south India I witnessed almost all women in their 40’s with mogra flowers around their buns . draped in a Banaras saree along with flowers adorned on their heads they make an elegant picture! As for those who want to try something new with the flowers you can wear them spun around your fishtail braids or even as a hand harness! Roses and lilies also can be used instead of mogra flowers.

Nishka Lulla daughter of  popular national award winning designer Neeta lulla tied knot to Dhruv mehra This month. Nishka Lulla is also a designer and her designs are breezy, fun and high on color creations which are perfect for mehendis and sangeets. I  love the fun vibes of nishkas creations and her marriage was something i had to keep an eye on just to see what Nishka Lulla will end up wearing.

Before the wedding Brides mom Neeta Lulla hosted a pre wedding brunch for the couple which was attended by popular B town celebs. The theme for the brunch was fairy tale and for this Nishka was spotted in a Neeta Lulla pink gown while the groom to be co-ordinated in Blue suit.

The pink gown had tinker bell embroidered on its hem and i think nishka looks every bit princess-sy in it.






The wedding was a private affair at Iskcon temple and for this ceremony Nishka lulla opted for vibrant colours . The simple lehenga Nishka Lulla wore was designed by her mom while the groom again colour coordinated nicely with a cheery yellow kurta and white dhoti. I love the colours of nishkas lehenga and she sure made a classy and simple bride but i do wish she draped the dupatta better .

Just when i thought Nishka Lulla opted for a simple wedding her super grand wedding festivities kicked of in Bangkok and photos started to trickle on instagram . The destination wedding was a full blown out affair complete with haldi, sangeet and mehendi

The haldi was nothing short of a fairy tale where nishka wore a fun asymytrical hem lehenga with high neck blouse having latkan detailing

For the grand wedding Nishka Wore pink and blue lehenga afgain designed by her mom. Nishka layered her necklaces well and the Matha patti and kamar bandh adds to the opulence. Love her kalire. The groom wore a sherwani and complemented the bride nicely







I loved all outfits of the bride and it is amazing to see the groom coordinate the bride in such a subtle way. Love IT

 If you are following up on this blog for a while now, you will know that recently it was buzzing with the news of a big fat wedding. This haul was made 2 months ago (close to the wedding).

The main idea behind the haul was splurging on some wearable, not-so-heavy-yet-gorgeous anarkalis. You know how much drama goes behind an Indian wedding so you can imagine what fun it was shopping for all of these! :D

The awesome Bling Sparkle Trio *ehem* went shopping and this is what we picked from our haul! All of them look prettier in reality!

 This is the one shown in the first pic. It's very different from others. The design is kinda unique! Also, there's no lays in the borders so this one's considerably lighter than others. Comfy too.

 This one's another beauty! Don't know why but the colour pink always catches my eye. I always end up buying a pink! :D It has detailing on the sleeves too and the kalis are considerably more in this suit.

Sangeet is one the functions that none of the brides like to miss. According to 95% brides, sangeet and Cocktail are the two most fun functions of an Indian wedding. Sangeet is all about keeping aside all your worries and nervousness for a day and simply dancing and enjoying the moment.

It demands the most fun, carefree and comfortable outfit. When you are choosing your sangeet keep three things in mind:

1>> Choose a light outfit: We are not asking you to quit all the bling but just keep it minimal. Make sure the outfit is light weight and manageable because sangeet is usually before the actual wedding day and you don't want to tire yourself before the big day. Besides, you'll have to dance which will be impossible with a heavy outfit and the chances are you won't have much fun. So, choose a LIGHT WEIGHT dress.

2>> Choose something flowy and flared: There's nothing which looks more prettier than a flowy outfit while you are dancing! :)

This is what the Divas Diya Mirza, Genelia and Amala Paul wore for their own Sangeets. I loved Genelia's outfit the most! Dia Mirza made a statement by choosing a not so sought out colour ~ blue. She looked beautiful! What Amala wore is the majority of Indian brides' favourite ~ Classic gold, it can never go wrong! Genelia's dupatta drape was fabulous!
 Floor length Anarkalis are the most sought out outfits by Indian brides today. They have something about them which is simply irresistible. Even if you wear minimal jewelry these floor length Anarkalis transform you into a classic vision.
 For brides who would like to choose a more western look, the above are great choices! Even if you are choosing western wear, the key is to opt for something elegant, minimalist in bling and flowy/flared.

Now these beauties have turned into my favourite statement clutches ! Everyone in my family loved them so much they ended up buying the same (altogether 4 clutches in gold and 2 in silver of the same design and color at my home now *smh*) Although they are bling and in your face sparkly but at least they are unique! There’s nothing I dislike more than walking into a crowded room and having on something that someone else is wearing. Ugh :P
