Who Wore What: Masaba Gupta-Madhu Mantena Wedding Reception
December 05, 20150 Comments
Quirky Designer Masaba tied knot to producer Madhu mantena and the reception was grand affair with many bollywood celebrities in attendance. Masabas complete wedding looks and style have already been discussed about on our blog here and in this post we will focus on what the guests wore.

I did not connect much with Masaba Guptas wedding style as I found it too contemporary and futuristic but the guests attending her reception balanced things out well turning up in the ethnic best outfits. The outfits worn by bollywood guests were tradition with a touch of modernity which is what i expected Masaba to try. But anyway what is done is done and Iam no one to dictate to Masaba as to what she should wear on her important day so here i bring to you details on what the guests wore so you can inspire yourself for the upcoming wedding season.

Dia Mirza:
Let me start off with Dia Mirza who was a picture of elegance in bright and festive Sabyasachi Sharara. Such a bright red colour would make you give competition to the bride but Dia styled it right by adding muted gold jewels and subtle make up to keep things simple . I so wish Masaba had opted for something similar for her special day instead of awkwardly placed tissue bits!

Kangana Ranaut showed just how exactly to rock the angelic white colour at indian weddings. She wore a white Abu Jaini sandeep khosla lace saree paired with silver clutch and added colour to the look with red lips and red louboutins.  The retro hair and the blouse added to her elegant look . Super Love .

Alia Bhat also wore a white Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla for the reception, but hers was a sharara with a touch of pink. Alia kept things simple by accessorizing her look with just a pair of earrings. The outfit was good but I felt it had fit issues and make Alia look a bit mature and aged. .

Mira Rajput looked amazingly gorgeous in her sheer Arpita Mehta saree. The colour looked great on Mira and she finished out the look with a necklace, earrings and gold clutch. The best thing about this look was the make up, Mira looked so natural and confident and made a perfect pair with Shahid kapoor . Love .

Sonam Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor attended the wedding reception together and decided to color co -ordinate their outfits. They both wore Anamika Khanna cream outfits in contemporary silhouettes. Rhea wore  floor length cape over dhoti pants and top while Sonam wore a draped top with lehenga . I like that this duo try different things and experiment but here it did not work also the make up let them down. Love both the neck pieces though.

Aditi Rao Hydari wore black surendri shahrara which featured parrot prints. Gold earrings, a modernized version of hath phool and red lips completed her look. I dont have anything against wearing black to a wedding but i personally would never wear it myself. What are your thoughts on wearing black to Indian weddings?

Athiya Shetty opted for a Rohit Bal lehenga , but what made the look different was her peplum top . She also skipped the dupatta and added a potli and earrings to the look while the hair was half pinned. The look was interesting but the peplum top made Athiya look a little pregnant, I think pregnant women should try out this style to mask their tummy bumps .

Sophie Choudary went the traditional route in this Anita dongre lehenga which she paired with big earrings and gajra in hair. (PS : this was for the sangeet )

Whose look did you like best at this wedding?

For the New age bride: 10 Reception outfits Under 50k
September 13, 20150 Comments
It is shocking how expensive designer bridal outfits are. The other day i stumbled upon a mint Tarun Tahliani Lehenga which was priced sky high at around 8 Lakhs and this lehenga was nowhere close to being bridal thanks to its colour. Who do these guys design for? Aliens?

How much should you spend on your wedding outfit? Thats a question everyone tries to ask themselves before heading shopping for their bridal outfits. Iam definitely against spending too much on a outfit you will end up wearing just once but then it is a special day and you are allowed to pamper yourself . If your reception is not a huge fat north indian wedding affair 50,000 INR sounds like a good Budget.
All brides want to look their traditional  best on their wedding day but when it comes to dressing up for the wedding Reception most brides want something contemporary with a touch of indian traditional . If you are a new age budget bride and cant seem to find he perfect outfit for your reception then dont worry we have it all sorted and present to you 10 Reception outfits all under 50 K .
Most of these outfits are light weight and fun but perfect for a wedding Reception . The best part is all these outfits can be worn again to weddings of your family of friends with a little bit of  experimenting and mix and match.

Shopping, Dressing ,De-tanning & Wedding Bliss!
July 07, 20150 Comments
De-tan cream review
Its been long since I wrote a blog post for which I can blame my BFF’s wedding ! Yes ! :D My BFF tied knot this month and it was one hell of a celebration! Dhannu and I are friends since college and I helped her in everything ! Every single thing- From makeup artist to mehendi artist & from choosing the right outfit to using the right products to get that extra bride wala glow , everything ! To be truthful it felt like I was running around shopping and making preparations for my own wedding :P The wedding was a fun filled affair among friends and family. It wasn’t a posh destination wedding but I swear it was a wedding I am going to remember for the warmth, fun and happiness for a long time from now.

So did I say we did a lot of shopping ? Shopping for shoes, accessories, ethnic jewellery, gold, lehengas and gowns, chudas, makeup, bags etc ;) Since most of the pre wedding celebrations included shopping you must have guessed the amount of tan we both would have got :/ Imagine waiting for a girl to choose her fuchsia pink lehenga’s matching wala bindi on a street at 1 pm O.O It was not an easy task getting Dhannu dolled up. She craves for perfection and we both had to make sure everything was intact and nothing went wrong on the Big day.
wedding bliss
The wedding took place in Mangalore and I had no clue about any reputed parlor stationed there. I had to zero upon any local parlor around the place I was to stay during the wedding . It so happened that the bride left for Mangalore 3 days before the marriage was to take place and I couldn’t go with her as I was tied up with work . So it was a mushy affair of boarding the train and reaching Mangalore the night before the wedding. Poor me was pressed for time with no time to visit the parlor.
Spin Sun Tan remover cream
I am pro with makeup and needed a simple facial for the instant glow before the big day. That is when I started to hyperventilate and the the bride , my BFF turned superwoman and took me to a drug store and bought Spinz De-tan Wash off cream. She went on to say that it was a new product which she had heard good reviews from her cousins present at the wedding celebrations and asked me to try it out. At first I was like how can a non bleach cream give me an instant glow but later on I had to give it try I had zero options left and ever since that SPINZ has been my best buddy ! It saved me.

Spin Sun Tan remover cream
All I had to do was follow the instructions on the box and guess what, five minutes just DAMN FIVE MINUTES and my face was glowing ! Hell yeah ! B) All I had to do was a tie my hair in a band , I took out the required amount of cream and gently massaged it all around my face and neck area and let it off for 5 minutes before washing it out. I made sure I din’t apply the cream on my eye contours. The moment I washed my face and looked into the mirror, the result was clearly evident and my face looked like I just had an expensive facial done at a salon!:D Dhannu , the bride to be stood there with her mouth open and tell you what she went straight into the bathroom and was out after 6 minutes with instant glowing face . Both of us were amazed by the awesomeness of the magic spun by Spinz . My face felt so soft and had a natural glow and not a single sight of tan was visible, so much that I used it again the next day before stepping out for reception. *Grinning* I looked like a princess on the reception day .My BFF got teary when someone stated that I and the bride were glowing with joy and happiness and looked like sisters.
Me and my BFF were overflowed with compliments .There were girls who asked us that after loads and loads of shopping under the sun on Bangalore streets howcome we both managed to look so radiant . All of them wanted to know which salon we had our facial done but we were hell bent on not revealing the secret behind the glow on our faces ;)
The theme for the reception was fairytale and we both looked every bit of princess , thanks to Spinz Iam saying yes to#SpinzBanTheTan ! :D

Have you used it yet? If not , you must do ! I recommend it to everyone as it suitable for both men and women and is even applicable for sensitive skin :D

Until next time,
Love

Anarkalis Haul ~ Ethnic Fashion
June 04, 20150 Comments
If you are following up on this blog for a while now, you will know that recently it was buzzing with the news of a big fat wedding. This haul was made 2 months ago (close to the wedding).

The main idea behind the haul was splurging on some wearable, not-so-heavy-yet-gorgeous anarkalis. You know how much drama goes behind an Indian wedding so you can imagine what fun it was shopping for all of these! :D

The awesome Bling Sparkle Trio *ehem* went shopping and this is what we picked from our haul! All of them look prettier in reality!

My Fav:
I think this was the classiest and most chic Anarkali of the lot! I loved the colour and the minimal detailing. I am not too found of collar necks but this one's simply perfection!
It has detailing in the back side too. I love love love it!!

This one didn't photograph well. It's not that bad in reality. It's kinda nice to wear on a simple occasion! The latkan detailing is fab!

This is the one shown in the first pic. It's very different from others. The design is kinda unique! Also, there's no lays in the borders so this one's considerably lighter than others. Comfy too.

This one's another beauty! Don't know why but the colour pink always catches my eye. I always end up buying a pink! :D It has detailing on the sleeves too and the kalis are considerably more in this suit.
All of them were bought from an outlet in Majestic, Bangalore.
What's your favourite? Do let us know in the comments!

Love,
~Bushra
