Kaya Skin Clinic: Insta-Brightening mask, Daily Use Sunscreen & Face Cleanser Review!
October 21, 20150 Comments

kaya skin clnic magic reviews and swatches

Our face needs a little pampering every now and then. What better way to indulge in some Kaya Skin Clinic products ! Every now and then I like to pamper my skin and Kaya Skin Clinic Products are among favorites when it comes to giving my skin a little extra care. I have spotted several outlets of Kaya Skin Clinic in Bangalore but never got the chance to pay a visit to any of them.

Today I’ll be sharing my experience after using Kaya Skin Clinic Insta Brightening Micro-Mask , Kaya Skin Clinic Daily Use Sunscreen and Kaya Skin Clinic face Cleanser With Brightening Beads.

Kaya Skin Clinic Daily Care Sunscreen Review:

Price: INR 680 for 50ml

Application: I apply it half an hour before going out in the sun and I reapply it after every face wash..

Packaging: It comes in a unique yet tricky bottle which seems like a bottle within a bottle . The outer bottle is a transparent one while inner one is an opaque one which gives an illusion of a bigger bottle!

My experience :The package says that the formula has been researched and developed by dermatologists. And I would like to go by it as this sunscreen did not break my skin even though my skin type is oily. The sunscreen gives my face a matte finish and slides smoothly on my skin. It is a good moisturizer but I hardly use sunscreens and this is going to stay with me for a while.

Kaya Brightening Micro Mask Review :

Price: INR 2980 for 30ml

Packaging: This comes in an opaque plastic bottle with a pump on the top which disperses the gel

My experience : It’s a kind of a face pack which I use before important occasions like parties and wedding attending's. Its colorless and light and spreads easily on the face. The only thing about is the smell! I hate it ! I leave it for 20 minutes and wash it off with tap water and the effect lasts for about 3-4 hours max. After applying it the skin on my face felt stretchy and thick. I found my face to be soft and supple once I washed off the mask! Best to remove dullness and other impurities from my face and neck!

Kaya Skin Clinic Fairness Face Cleanser Review:

Price : INR350 for 100ml

Packaging : Comes in tube and reminds me of ponds facewash packaging! This doesn’t come with a dispenser but works out like other facewashes. It is easy to remove & hygienic to carry everyday in my bag.

Application: Dispense one pump on your finger tips and slowly cover your face with rubbing it in circular motions. Gently wash it off with water later.

My experience : Unlike other products from Kaya this one is priced reasonably while others cost me a fortune . I used this as a facewash and I like that it is mildly scented but it did not seem effective to remove blackheads and acne. I found my face fresh and soft after using this. It did unclog my pores and removed dirt from my face leaving my face soft and supple.

BlingSparkle’s final verdict:

These were my first  products I used from the brand kaya Skin Clinic and found that they manufacture quality products but I have my complaints. They are too pricey even for something that is dermatologically tested! I loved the fairness cleanser and the micro mask and I recommend it to those who are looking for a good face pack during the wedding preparations.

Oriflame Nature’s Secret Shower Gel Review
July 27, 20150 Comments

Oriflame is one brand I love and I can hardly resist their bath range products. Recently I wanted to pamper my skin and I bought this sweet looking oriflame shower gel. And eversince I used it I have been in love with it. I am not  much into shower gels , I usually use handmade soap bars from soulflower or fuchsia for bathing but after using a few shower gels from renowned brands I came to like these gels for shower. Today I’ll be reviewing Oriflame’s Nature secret Shower Gel.

100_7773

The gel comes in a nice sturdy packaging and has this sweet fragrance. Its main ingredients include Ginseng and passion fruit, both of which I have never seen but only heard about them. It lathers well and leaves my skin soft and fragrant. I do wish its availability was a lot more easier as I had a hard time finding another one after this was emptied.

100_7774

Consistency: Thickness is medium in consistency.

Price: 350 INR for 250ml

Availability : Available on online shopping portals like Ebay and Amazon India.

100_7775

Ingredients:

100_7775 - Copy

Packaging: I like it that’s a see through bottle so I can keep a tab on the remaining amount of gel every time I take a bath. Plus the yellow cap at the top is sturdy and is good to keep the from gel leaking. the bottle is travel friendly and I am sure the bottle wouldn’t break if it slips out of my hand.

100_7776

Pros:

1. Moisturizes skin

2. Leaves a fruity fragrance on your body.

3. Gives a smooth feeling

4. Tropical scent

5.Ginseng's anti-oxidant and stimulating properties help faster healthy - looking skin.

6. Good packaging

7. Travel friendly

8. Creamy foam

Cons:

1. Not available in drug stores.

BlingSparkle.com’s Rating: 4.5/5

Dabur Vatika Coconut ++ Hair Oil ~ My Ticket to Frizz Free Healthy Hair!
June 29, 20150 Comments
The beaches.. The holidays.. The endless ice creams and cool drinks.. The welcoming rays of the Sun.. Summer is here! So are the hundred hair and skin vows which every girl dreads.

It's that time of the year when your hair needs maximum protection as it's exposed to direct sunlight and body sweat which makes it very difficult to handle them.. especially if you have long hair!

A few days back I came across my girlfriends discussing short hairstyles in a   Whatsapp group, the next thing you know, all of them had cut their hair short. I was devastated to witness this as all of them are prim South Indian beauties with gorgeous, thick, long black hair.

I myself have long hair (which I love to bits) so obviously I could understand why they took this step as I know how hard it is to manage long hair especially during summers and winters or for that matter, any time of the year!

The other day when I took almost an hour to get my hair done, much to the annoyance of my now short haired waiting friends, I saw all of them giving me the 'you-are-next-looks'.

I have been fond of long hair since the time I was a little girl. Thanks to the wonderful opportunity of being brought up in a joint family, I had the privilege of my Grandma always tending to my hair as if they were near and dear to her. Those days you didn't get these million options of hair oils which are available in the market today. My grandma used pure unpackaged coconut oil and it did a good job on my hair I must say.

My hair was brilliant until my high school but when I reached college the last thing I worried about was hair. Add the fact that I often kept my hair open to that and you know what happened next - my hair started getting weak and losing their luster.

It was the era of cosmetics budding every where and desperate to win my hair back, withouts having to do much, I started exploring all these products one by one.

While the majority of them didn't give any result, those which did, didn't last long and left shocking after effects which further affected my hair.

Hence, my search for a good hair oil which actually suits my hair type is still on. Or let's say it was on till yesterday.. not any more!

Dabur Vatika is one of the most trusted brands which I instantly fell in love with. I am a big fan of natural products which don't have much chemicals in them but still do their job. I found Dabur Vatika to be one such brand. I have used their other oil before and also their shampoo range and I must say they were quite effective.
What caught my attention was this new version of Dabur Vatika Enriched Coconut Hair Oil. It has Henna, which along with other herbs coats your hair & protects it from oxidation. It also has Amla which strengthens the roots of hair to help maintain their health and natural thickness and lemon which has an astringent action that controls the flow of sebum. All in all it helps nourish your hair and makes them healthy and strong.
Until a few days ago, I was seriously considering chopping off my long hair and pay heed to my friends. But now that I have come across this promising looking hair oil.. I am going to give it a last try. I have used it for a few weeks now and I must say I am impressed. This amazing oil has managed to win my heart in a short time span! It's showing results which majority of the products I have tried to date couldn't!
My hair fall has reduced considerably! The texture has improved too, not to mention the frizziness is almost gone! So far, so good..phew

Will update all you wonderful people on how it's working!
I really hope it heals my hair the way I think it will. I want to surprise my friends with my long, gorgeous hair and inspire them to never cut their hair short!

You can read more about this product and get detailed descriptions HERE.

Will be back soon with an update.
Until then,
Love,

Blossom Kocchar Aroma Magic Under Eye Gel Review
June 18, 20150 Comments
Magic ~ That's the perfect word for this product!

Being a Blogger and a die-hard social media addict, I have to sit in front of my laptop screen for long hours. Plus, I am more of a night owl who stays awake late in the night, blogging or doing some other assignment.

Top all this with the fact that I wear glasses, and you know HOW FREAKING tired my eyes get everyday! *crie*

The urge to soothe them occurs every 10 or so hours and I find myself reaching out to only this eye gel everytime though I have bought myself quite a lot of substitutes.

The first eye gel/cream I ever tried was the one from Lotus Herbals. Must say I liked it a lot. Yes, it did nothing to help me with my faint dark circles or even the drowsy eye bags or puffiness, but it did soothe my eyes and calm them temporarily. But obviously, my eyes demanded more and that's how I landed up on this amazing Aroma Magic eye gel from blossom Kocchar!
Rati from Makeupandbeauty.com is who introduced me to this wonderful gel. Actually, what she recommended was the eye cream from this same brand. She said it worked wonders on her mother's eyes. Following her recommendation, I hunted for that cream online and added it to my cart in Flipkart. While hunting that cream, I came across this gel and read somewhere that this gel does the same work as the cream. I am not too fond of creams, especially if I have to put them in my eye area as I have extremely sensitive eyes and it's quite irritating when the cream goes inside the eyes.

So what I did is, I bought a combo pack containing both that cream and this eye gel.. and My! My! I am so glad I did so!

I used the cream first and hated it instantly. It got straight into my eye by mistake and clouded the whole of it( how annoying) Than, with a disappointed expression, I tried this gel and was delighted!

Perfect is the word!
*It didn't get inside my eye create a havoc. it just stayed put wherever I applied/massaged it.
*It gave me this cooool minty feeling which cooled my eyes and comforted them instantly
*It kicked off my slight headache (oh yes!) and brightened my mood
*To put it simply, it put a smile on my face :)
I have been using this for 4-5 months regularly now and there's been a drastic change in my eye area. The dark circles have reduced a lot and my eyes are considerably healthy. Whenever I feel some uneasiness, I apply this gel and it evaporates instantly! *happy dance*

Now let's have a quick question and answer session!

Q. So, What makes it so special and a must buy?
A. The PRICE and the QUANTITY offered! The Lotus one is okay too but it got over in just 20 days!! Nothing can beat the quantity and price tag of this Blossom Kocchar Aroma Magic Eye gel!

Q. Does it do what it claims?
A. Yes. Yes. Yes. Actually, more than it claims. Well! Obviously you can't apply it for two days and hope for some miracle. All I can say is it is far better than its competitors which our insanely priced and I would choose this anyday over a cream worth 1000-6000 bucks!

Q. Will I buy it again?
A. I am buying a combo pack of three of these Flipkart in a few days! :D #yay

I don't write beauty reviews often so you know how much I loved this Blossom Kocchar Eye Gel to get my lazy self to writing!! :P

Always stay awesome and yes, wish you all a VERY happy Ramzan!! :D
Loads of haul posts coming up!

Fuschia Arabian Jasmine Anti-ageing Night Cream Review and Swatch
May 03, 20150 Comments

I read a lot of beauty blogs and i have deep respect for bloggers who religiously put up empties post regularly. I can never do it because i seem to take ages (more like forever) to finish products or they just get expired and unfit for use . But miracle happened when i with the Loreal night cream (Review here) . I purchased this cream on a discount and this was expiring in 3 months so i decided to use only this religiously every night  and try to finish it before expiry. The result well i finished this cream in 2 months flat!
I had purchased the Loreal Night cream as an anti aging care and after this cream finished i decided to finally start with anti ageing regime and the Fuschia Arabian Jasmine Anti-ageing Night Cream  landed at my door step at an apt time. Now this Fuschia cream has replaced the loreal night cream and i have been using this cream for more than a month now and here i present to you my experience with it.

You cant avoid ageing but you can definitely delay it . Iam 25 and most skin experts say 25 is the right  time to start anti anti ageing regime and i have decided to start early and this is my first anti ageing cream.

Price: 675 for 50 gms
Shelf life: 30 months
Ingredients : Jasmine Oil, Olive Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Kokum Butter, Aloe Vera, Vitamin E and Biostine HP.
Packaged beautifully in a transparent tub with a screw cap the Fuschia Arabian Jasmine Anti-ageing Night Cream comes with 3 cute paper cards which has details like ingredients, how to use  and directions to use  printed on it. all the printed cards and tub is put in a cute chiffon bag which makes for a great gift . The packaging is different and adds to the natural organic feel but the  instructions could easily be lost this way . i wish the instruction labels were  punched and attched to the neck og the bottle so we wouldn't loose it that soon.
The the anti ageing cream is whitish cream in colour with thick consistency and tiny granules. Ithas subtle jasmine fragrance which  lingers on for a while and has a calming effect at night . The cream though thick gets easily absorbed into skin with light massaging and  leaves my face soft and supple without even a hint of greasy or stickiness.
The results are pretty instant and just after about 2 weeks of use my skin feels  bright and tighter . every morning i wake up to soft and hydrated  glowing skin and even my pigmentation  has improved. About the anti ageing thing i cant really comment much because i dont have any signs of ageing to start with. But overall this is a nice night cream which people of all ages can try.
The cream of course is a pricey affair at 675 INR but its is natural and  paraben free so I don't mind paying extra also for the results it provides the price is totally worth it. Also, I need just a little bit of cream to cover my entire face and after a months use half the tub still remains. So a tub will easily last you 2 months.
I do wish this came in a more hygienic packaging like a tube or a bottle with nozzle.

The Goods:
  • Subtle jasmine fragrance which lingers for a while
  • Makes skin soft , supple and hydrates
  • 100% Natural, SLS and Paraben free
  • Thick creamy texture which isnt greasy or sticky
  • cute packaging with small labels, chiffon bag and tub.
  • Handmade
  • Brightens skin and repairs cells
The Bads:
  • The tub packaging in unhygienic
  • Pricey (but it is natural and works great on my skin so justified )
  • Available only online
BlingSparkle Rating: ★★★★/5

Final Verdict: I am totally loving my skin these days all thanks to the Fuschia Arabian Jasmine Anti-ageing Night Cream. If you love natural and organic stuff this cream is your best night cream / anti ageing cream.

Plum Goodness Angel Eyes Kohl and Hello Aloe Caring Day Moisturizer Bundle Review
March 22, 20150 Comments
A good moisturizer is a must for every woman. It protects your skin and gives it the right treatment it deserves! I am a fan of organic products made up of at least 80% natural ingredients. Products made up of harsh chemicals have never worked for my skin and have left my skin with breakages and damage. Therefore, I am always on the look out for products made up of organic, 'sensitive-skin-friendly' ingredients.
Luckily, I happened to come across this amazing moisturizer, kajal and sharpener trio on Plum Goodness's website. The trio looked so pretty and promising that I knew I had to try them out!

I was impressed by the speedy delivery by this website. The package arrived all bubble wrapped and safe inside a well-packed box. My first impression on seeing its contents was "cool".

All of the three products turned out to be way more awesome and effective than I had expected them to be!

Plum Goodness Day Moisturizer:
To start with, this is my favourite product out of the trio. It simply works like magic for my sensitive skin which is prone to breakouts. It's a day moisturiser, but I find myself applying it sometimes before sleeping too. It has that cooling effect which is not present in other moisturisers in my wardrobe.

The texture is smooth and flowy. It's more like a body lotion with more moisturising features. The best part is it's 100% organic with Aloe extracts. That's what gives the cooling effect I guess.
All the ingredients and directions to use are mentioned on the outer box packaging and behind the actual product too. The packaging is travel-friendly thanks to the tight cap which acts as a closure. A little goes a long way! Bottom line, it does what it claims, very effectively at that!

Cons:
None!

Coming to the kajal, I have more sensitive skin in my eye area. Only 5% of the best eye products in the market suit me. Even the best of kajals like the Eyeconic have caused irritation in my eyes so I have stopped using any kajal at all :/
I was sceptical about trying out this one but as it claims it's 100% organic, I went ahead and tried it out.
They were three things I totally loved about this kajal:
1) It did not sting on my waterline!
2) Blackest of black colour on one swipe
3) Didn't give me Panda eyes!

Cons:
None!

As shown in the swatch, you can see that how dark and blackest black the kajal is on only one swipe. I am in love with that sharpener! It's simply too CUTE! :D
Price: 795/-  (for the whole bundle)
Availability: These are an 'online-only' range of products by Plum Goodness.
Plus point: All products are free of harmful chemicals!

Bling Sparkle Rating:
Hello Aloe Caring Day Moisturizer: 5/5
Plum Goodness Angel Eyes Kohl: 4.5/5
Plum Goodness sharpener: 5/5

Overall, I am totally in love with this combo bundle! They are a pretty amazing set of organic cosmetics at a steal worthy price! If a product is good, you like it. If it's pricing is good, then you like it more. This is exactly what happened here. I totally love all these products which are paraben free and harmful chemicals free. They totally suit my sensitive skin and make sure it's pampered! I totally recommend this amazing brand to all you folks! You can buy their products from their website here.

Now for the good news, we love these products so much that we have decided to giveaway a similar hamper. Awesome right? :) Yes, you can win these awesome products for yourself soon. Stay connected!

Love,

L’Oreal Paris White Perfect Night Cream & Day Cream (SPF17 PA++) Review
January 25, 20150 Comments
I am on the wrong side of 25 and many people suggest anti ageing creams should be started at 25 , I decided to incorporate a night cream and not go the anti ageing routine just yet. I came across this L’Oreal Paris White Perfect Fairness Revealing soothing night cream (Melanin-vanish +Tourmaline) and this range had a day cream too so I brought both of them
Read on to know how the duo fared on me 100_8121

L’Oreal Paris White Perfect Fairness Revealing Soothing Night Cream : The Night cream is very has a light violet tint to it and light fragrance which I absolutely love. The texture is velvety light and gets absorbed into skin in seconds leaving my skin hydrated and refreshed. I love how after a long tiring day this cream soothes my face. It does not leave a greasy feeling and when I wake up my skin is  soft and supple . On some days when the winters get too harsh in bangalore and my face gets chapped this cream kind of burns a bit on my face. The burning may be due to overload of chemicals and at such times i rely on my trusted nivea to moisturize me. But other than that  Iam loving this cream till now and as my first night cream it has fared well .

L’Oreal Paris White Perfect Fairness Control Moisturizing Day Cream: The day cream is pure white in colour and the texture is thick. It spreads easily on skin despite being very thick . My skin absorb this cream quickly with no white cast or greasy feeling . But i have to make sure i use just the right quantity as when i use more than required cream iam left looking a bit whitish which i then blend of using a sponge. It has an SPF 17 which isnt enough but is of great help in winters and summers also when iam staying indoors with curtains open. I love how this cream adds glow to my face and it kind of evens out my skin tones so these days I use only this on my skin and skip the BB creams and foundations . My skin looks a lot more soft and supple these days and I cant be any more happier.

100_8134

(swatch : White perfect day cream (top) and White perfect night cream (below))

I have been using both these creams for 2 months now and I have noticed a visible reduction of spots and tan along with soft and supple skin. At 650 each these creams are an expensive deal and other cons include the unhygienic tub packaging and the heavy glass tubs. But despite these cons iam impressed with both these creams as they do their job well.

BlingSparkle Rating: ★★★/5

Will I repurchase? These creams definitely work for me but iam going to try more options from lakme and Olay and then return back it all else fails. This is my first night cream so I am open to experimenting.

Beauty Obsession : Lip Crayons + Peek into my Collection
January 14, 20150 Comments
Lip Crayon obsession, My collection
The latest trend in lip products are lip crayons. What are they? Somewhere between a lip gloss and a lipstick they are packed in cute crayon forms and the best part with them is the ease of application
Lip Crayon obsession, My collection
I was introduced to them when  Clinique launched the Chubby sticks . The chubby sticks were priced really high and the not-so-great reviews meant I wasn’t getting them. Everything changed with the launch of just bitten balm stains by Revlon.  Revlons Lip crayons were priced pretty decently and had amazing staying power and colour pay off and I rushed get myself my first lip crayon In Rendezvous. I was amazed at how convenient they were to use , no lip brush or a lip liner was required and yet I got a bright even finish which wasn’t too gloopy like a gloss. Then began my obsession as I went on to buy more crayons in adore, darling, love sick, romantic and dint stop there. I ventured into other brands and brought a Loreal glam gloss and an Oriflame lip Impact crayon too.
Lip Crayon obsession, My collection

Lip Crayon obsession, My collection
Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in Crush
Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in Rendezvous
Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in Darling
Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in Adore
Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in Lovesick
Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in Romantic
L'Oreal Paris Balm Shine Balmy Gloss in Pomegranate Punch
Oriflame Lip Impact crayon in pink Impact

My Favorite ones still are Revlon Just bitten balm Stains which though are a bit pricey at 700 but they are totally worth the money giving an amazing staying power of around 6 hours and having 10 wearable shades to choose from. They arent very moisturizing so don’t think of them as a substitute to your lip balms.

Lip Crayon obsession, My collection

Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in Rendezvous is pure orange . This is my first orange lip colour and I love it but don’t realy use it much. If you want to try out an orange lip this could be your pick.,
Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in Darling is a light purlish pink which is perfect for everyday wear for soft make up look
Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in adore is a brown with red undertones which will suit all indian skin tones. Minty feel, glossy finish, amazing staying power , sleek packaging whats not to like? This is my most used crayon and  I recommend this gorgeous shade to everyone
.
Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in Lovesick is a fushcia pink which is not suitable for warm tones beauties. Fair skinned girls will love this
Lip Crayon obsession, My collection

Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in Crush is a Dark burgandy shade. Crush also could be addressed as a deep plum and has the most staying power. Not a favourite with me as I hate dark colours but if you like deep plums you should try this. This definitely will suit a great range of skin tones and makes for a great winter lip colour

Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in Romantic is a red with orange undertone. It will suit most indian skin tone and can be wore anywhere . another gorgeous shade I recommend to all. If you want to start with wearing red, romantic is your answer.

The LOreal Paris Balm shine Balmy gloss in Pomegranate Punch is a glossy maroon with some shimmer in it. This doesn’t have a very good staying power (about 2 hours)  but is very moisturizing and decently pigmented. It is priced just right at 400 INR and if you want to experiment with lip crayons this is the range to start from.

Oriflame Lip Impact Crayon in Pink Impact is a mauve glossy pink which is priced at 350 (could be brought for even less) . Frankly this was a huge disappointment for me as the crayon is too soft and melts away faster than. Add to it the need of sharpening and a not very impressive staying power of around 3 hours. I wouldn’t recommend this one even for the price. I actually use a lip brush to dig in product and apply on my lips as the normal jumbo  sharpener cant sharp it!

Why Am I obsessed with Lip Crayons?
  • Ease Of Use: I can apply it even without a mirror. A swipe and iam done. No need of a lip brush or lip pencil
  • Packaging: The packaging both cute and travel friendly. Adorably compact they are fun to use
  • Bid Bye to Sharpeners: There is no wastage because of sharpening as these crayons come in a twist up packaging. (But the oriflame one does need to be sharpened)
  • All in One gloss cum balm cum lipstick: Lip Crayons are the best thing of all lip products packaged into one. They are very moisturizing , stay for long and add decent colour too.
Other lip Crayons you could try (Also on my wish list )
  • Colorbar Take Me As I Am Stick Rs 800
  • Lakme Absolute lip Tints – Rs 900
  • Clinique Chubby Stick - Rs 1,300
  • Max Factor Colour Elixr Giant Pen Stick- Rs 675
  • Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayon - Rs 785.
  • Rimmel Lasting Finish Colour Rush Balm
  • NYX jumbo pencil
  • Inglot Matte Lip Crayons
  • Revlon colour burst Laquer Balms and Matte balms
Have you tried Lip Crayons yet? Which ones are your favourite?

Stay Beautiful
KJ.
