10 Best Mehendi Designs For Your Fingers
December 17, 20150 Comments
Mehendi art is a bridal must and all of us want the best for our wedding, be it our wedding lehenga or a simple Henna Mehendi design on hands.

Your fingers get the most attention, be it any occasion as they are always exposed so it's important to dress them right. The Mehendi designs which come in books are quite pretty but I have observed that the finger designs are always the boring and same. So I got myself searching for new and unique finger Mehendi designs which will give your fingers that extra drama.

I found that there are unlimited choices for finger Mehendi art in the internet. I have done all the hunting down for you and chosen the ten very best designs. You can pair these designs with suitable palm designs to dress your hands in the best way possible.

Have a look:

  • 1
This ring style mehendi design is very chic and suitable for ethnic outfits with a western blend. There's so much volume in this design that there's no need for applying mehendi on the back of tyour hand. Just this finger design will give a statement look.

  • 2
Another ring design. This one is more on the ethnic side which speaks elegance. My first thought on seeing this design was 'Sabyasachi'! This design will look fab if you will be wearing a gota patti lehenga on your wedding/special occasion.

  • 3
Another pretty design which will beautify your fingers. This design will look best when paired with a single signature cocktail ring.

  • 4
Another WOW design! This is an Arabic design which is quite different and unique from all the designs listed here. This will go great with both western and ethnic outfits.

  • 5
This design is on the thicker side which will stay longer on your fingers and look gorgeous with ethnic outfits.

  •  6
This design is very simple yet very beautiful. Love the leaves and simple lines at the tips! This design is best if you are wearing a lot of rings!

  • 7
This is one design which truly steals the show! I have tried this and it is not at all as hard as it looks. Brides who are not too found of applying Mehendi or those who want a really signature look can opt for this design. Ensure that you don't apply Mehendi anywhere else(palm or down) This will surely give you a show stopper look.

  • 8
This simple design is elegant in its own way. Opt for this if you are skipping applying Mehendi on the backside or if you want to draw eyes to your nail art! :D

  • 9
This is my another favourite! The intricate ring art on just one finger is what makes this design stand out. It'll give your fingers a royal look. LOVE IT! ^_^

  • 10
This design is perfect for starters as it is quite easy and looks quite elegant too! :)

So these are the best Finger Mehendi henna designs which will make a statement. 1,2,7 and 9 are my personal favorites. What about you? Do share!

10 Bridal Outfits In Pantone Colours Of The Year 2016
December 17, 20150 Comments
Pantone the colour company announces the “Color of the Year” every year. For the Year 2015 it was deep earthy Red Marsala and this year for the first time Pantone chose not one but two shades  i.e Rose Quartz & Serenity .
The 2016 PANTONE Color of the Year
Pantone colours of the year2016
Rose Quartz is baby pink and Serenity is kind of icy powder blue with a hint of liliac or you can just say baby blue. Pantone is of the opinion that when Joined together these two shades Rose Quartz and Serenity demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace.

Pastels are my all time favorites and both these colours Rose Quartz & Serenity have a  pastel vibe to them which has me excited. These colours are already very popular with designers like Jyotsna tiwari, Tarun tahiliani, Anushree Reddy and Shantanu and Nikhil in 2015 fashion weeks and if you are wondering how to wear this colour duo then well the new bollywood ki Bahurani Mira Rajput shows you the way .

Mira wore pale pink aka Rose quartz Anamika Khanna lehenga on her wedding day and carried it off with amazing grace . Her dazzling smile , navratna haar and right amount of bling in the outfit made this look a classy Bridal winner. When wearing pale colours like serinity or rose quartz make sure you add right amount of bling and colour to make it wedding appropriate.

Here I bring to you 10 Bridal outfits straight from the runway . Go brides embrace the colour trends!

Jyotsna tiwari presented this blingy outfit which has a pale pink light weight dupatta to balance things out.
Where to wear: Sangeet or Mehendi

Another Jyotsna Tiwari creation , I am in love with this gown . How much more prettier and feminine can things get?
Where to wear: Sangeet or Reception

This ice blue tulle and organza lehenga encrusted with swarovski crystal is a classy beauty from Tarun Tahiliani . That lehenga i would wear in a heartbeat but i would definitely add a dupatta to this look. Pure love
Where to wear: Sangeet or your Engagement.

This gown from  Jyotsna tiwari is perfect for the contemporary bride .
Where to wear: Cocktail or sangeet

Not exactly in pantone colours but this gown from Gauri and Nainika has beautiful blush pink 3D detailing which makes it a must have in this list
Where to wear: To your cocktail

Another Gauri and Nainika creation which have a blend of both Pantone colours, rose quartz and serenity as 3D detailing on the bust
Where to wear:  To your cocktail, bridal shower or honeymoon

Anushree Reddy just loves pastels and this crop top lehenga fits perfectly into Pantone colour duo of 2016. I loved this lehenga and floral top pairing the moment i spotted it and Iam sure this is going to find more love with brides
Where to wear: To your Mehendi ofcourse!

Blush pink Lehenga on showstopper Amy Jackson is pure awesomeness .
Where to wear: Reception, Sangeet or your engagement.

How funky n fun is this Neeta Lulla pale periwinkle blue outfit? There is fringe and bling and lot of drama.
Where to wear: Only to your Mehendi!

Akshara Hasan wore this pale pink outfit as she walked ramp for Rina dhaka at IBFW . The latkans are something fun and will make for a good Mehendi or cocktail outfit.

What do you think of the Pantone colours for the year 2016?

Who Wore What: Masaba Gupta-Madhu Mantena Wedding Reception
December 05, 20150 Comments
Quirky Designer Masaba tied knot to producer Madhu mantena and the reception was grand affair with many bollywood celebrities in attendance. Masabas complete wedding looks and style have already been discussed about on our blog here and in this post we will focus on what the guests wore.

I did not connect much with Masaba Guptas wedding style as I found it too contemporary and futuristic but the guests attending her reception balanced things out well turning up in the ethnic best outfits. The outfits worn by bollywood guests were tradition with a touch of modernity which is what i expected Masaba to try. But anyway what is done is done and Iam no one to dictate to Masaba as to what she should wear on her important day so here i bring to you details on what the guests wore so you can inspire yourself for the upcoming wedding season.

Dia Mirza:
Let me start off with Dia Mirza who was a picture of elegance in bright and festive Sabyasachi Sharara. Such a bright red colour would make you give competition to the bride but Dia styled it right by adding muted gold jewels and subtle make up to keep things simple . I so wish Masaba had opted for something similar for her special day instead of awkwardly placed tissue bits!

Kangana Ranaut showed just how exactly to rock the angelic white colour at indian weddings. She wore a white Abu Jaini sandeep khosla lace saree paired with silver clutch and added colour to the look with red lips and red louboutins.  The retro hair and the blouse added to her elegant look . Super Love .

Alia Bhat also wore a white Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla for the reception, but hers was a sharara with a touch of pink. Alia kept things simple by accessorizing her look with just a pair of earrings. The outfit was good but I felt it had fit issues and make Alia look a bit mature and aged. .

Mira Rajput looked amazingly gorgeous in her sheer Arpita Mehta saree. The colour looked great on Mira and she finished out the look with a necklace, earrings and gold clutch. The best thing about this look was the make up, Mira looked so natural and confident and made a perfect pair with Shahid kapoor . Love .

Sonam Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor attended the wedding reception together and decided to color co -ordinate their outfits. They both wore Anamika Khanna cream outfits in contemporary silhouettes. Rhea wore  floor length cape over dhoti pants and top while Sonam wore a draped top with lehenga . I like that this duo try different things and experiment but here it did not work also the make up let them down. Love both the neck pieces though.

Aditi Rao Hydari wore black surendri shahrara which featured parrot prints. Gold earrings, a modernized version of hath phool and red lips completed her look. I dont have anything against wearing black to a wedding but i personally would never wear it myself. What are your thoughts on wearing black to Indian weddings?

Athiya Shetty opted for a Rohit Bal lehenga , but what made the look different was her peplum top . She also skipped the dupatta and added a potli and earrings to the look while the hair was half pinned. The look was interesting but the peplum top made Athiya look a little pregnant, I think pregnant women should try out this style to mask their tummy bumps .

Sophie Choudary went the traditional route in this Anita dongre lehenga which she paired with big earrings and gajra in hair. (PS : this was for the sangeet )

Whose look did you like best at this wedding?

This Wedding Season, Stylize Your Phone
November 29, 20150 Comments
The phone you use says a lot about your style and I believe a stylish phone is the best accessory to complete any outfit, Bridal or not, so it is important to choose the right phone.

About 3 months back I was looking to upgrade my phone and after a lot of research I settled for the #Zenfone 2 from Asus . I must say I am loving the whole smartphone experience with Zenfone 2 which has an amazing camera helping capture fabulous photos even in low light and the battery performance is also very good add to that the phone is high on style and matches my fashion aesthetics well .
Asus has decided to further up the style game for its Zenfone 2 with the Zen Looks Asus Incredible catwalk case series . This campaign kicked-off in Southeast Asia and features model-blogger Kim Jones who traveled to 7 countries in 7 days to create 7 incredible #ZenLooks. Here are the looks she created in Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia and India.
Inspired by Asus Zenfone 2 and Incredible catwalk case series we at BlingSparkle created this lookbook.
Pink is all time favorite, pair it with the gorgeous Zenfone 2 and you get something simply irresistible! The above look is inspired by ASUS's all time famous Pink-blue-red hues wallpaper. In this pic, I have tried to bring out the world a woman carries inside her bag. :)

The look below defines ethnic elegance. It's what you would like to wear on a Dining night out with friends or family. You can also wear it on your Mehendi or the day before your wedding.
Contest:
Asus also launched an online creative contest called #ZenLooks for fashionistas wherein they invite you to design a #zenfone 2 case cover . Look around and take inspiration from your culture, national colours or textures you come across to design your own ultimate gadget accessory, a Zenfone 2 case cover. The Ultimate Guide to Style up for an Indian Winter Wedding
November 25, 20150 Comments
Tips for Indian Winter Wedding
Winter hasn't exactly arrived in Bangalore, it is cold and weepy and wet. You can call it Bangalore delayed rainy season but it is already beginning to get cold over most other parts of India and so I came up with this pretty warm idea of putting together a style guide for Indian winter weddings .

On a dull winter day, attending a winter wedding wearing a saree with sleeveless blouse or a lehenga with low back choli would mean freezing yourself to death and adding a sweater or a woolen shawl to your ethnic look means fashion disaster. But here iam going to guide you into staying fashionably warm and making a style statement without compromising on comfort

Most of the outfit ideas on this post are inspired from Sonam Kapoors Prem Ratan Dhan Payo promotional tour which saw sonam wear high necks and full sleeves . Sonam even gave lessons on stylish layering of ethnic outfits of which I am going to talk in detail in this post.

Choose the fabric carefully : When buying a winter wedding outfit keep an eye on the fabric used and give more preference to thick fabrics like velvet, raw silks , thick Georgette, brocades and skip delicate stuff like net and chiffon unless there is lot of layering and thick lining involved. Fabrics like velvet will keep you warm and also look royal .
I attended a wedding last year where the bride wore a marsala velvet lehenga with double dupatta  so If you have always wanted to wear a velvet lehenga this is the time to try it out . Velvets in dark blue, marsala and black all will look great this wedding season. A velvet jacket with silk lehenga or velvet half saree are also good options to try. I also got myself a red and purple velvet chudidaar suit with embellished georgette dupatat which is just perfect for winter weddings.
Indian winter bridal wear
Embrace High necks and long sleeves : It makes no sense to wear sleeveless cholis or strapless blouses in winters. Go in for a regal or a royal look and opt for high embellished necks and long sleeves. India's top designers like Sabyasachi are churning out high neck , long sleeve leghengas and blouses whhich are the perfect way to dress up for winter weddings. If your high necks are not embellished then add in a neck piece over your blouse . You can even layer jewelry as winter is the best time to flaunt your accesories without sweating out even a bit.
High necks and full sleeves tend to look a bit mature on young women so take care to keep your make up and hair playful or soft to balance out.
Take inspiration from Sonam Kapoor here on how to dress in long sleeves and high necks.
Indian Bridal wear
Go for Jacket or cape ensembles : Jackets and capes with ethnic wear are the latest trend and the best time to rock it is in winter . Pair a long jacket with your saree or a short phulkari jacket with your anarkali. Even your sarees can be layered up with a classy phulkari jackets to give you a layered regal look. Capes can be a tricky deal but who doesnt want to follow the latest trends? Skip the sheer capes and opt for embellished ones to go with your outfits. Floor length capes are also a big thing these days, try some color blocking with silk capes for a comfortable and trendy ethnic look.
Ridhi Mehra showcased cape jumpsuits recently and these could be great options for a winter wedding

Shawl it up! : Shawls today arent restricted to grandmothers!  Velvet shawls in contrasting colours with embroidery or kundan embellishments are best way to grab eye balls and stay warm too .  Take inspiraion from Anushka sharma who wore this mint suit with a red velvet dupatta to a wedding . You can even use a kanjeevaram silk dupatta like a shawl and add to your outfit for some warmth.

Indian bridal wear
Play with hemlines:  High necks and covering up means you cant experiment much with your  necklines in winter so to add a slight edge to your outfit experiment with hemlines. Go for asymmetrical hemline anarkalis, high low salwars kammez or ruffled lehengas and peplum blouses.
Indian bridal wear
Opt for Jutis: When it comes to footwear avoid open toe heels and bring out your traditional warm embellished juttis which will keep you warm while blending in with your ethnic look. You can even go in for booties to keep yourself warm if you are sure they wont show up too much under your floor length lehenga.
Indian bridal wear
Thermal leggings or camisoles: If it very cold you can wear thermal leggings under your lehengas to keep you warm but make sure these are of 3/4 th length so they don't show up . If your top isn't deep cut add a thermal camisole too .

I hope this post helps you style up for a winter wedding , please do leave your comments if you need help implementing any of the above ideas

Celebrity Style: Masaba Gupta During Her Wedding Celebrations
November 23, 20150 Comments
Masaba Gupta's wedding
Famous Indian based designer Masaba Gupta tied the knot with Film producer Madhu Mantena officially a few months back and chose this month to celebrate the same with close family and friends. The celebrations kicked off a a friends place in JUhu and lasted for three day.Her outfits she sported at her wedding, reception, Mehendi , bridal shower and sangeet came as a surprise. She wore the most weird looking clothes to her wedding celebrations. We all know she is a designer but that doesn’t mean you dress up in lackluster clothes. Most of the outfits she chose to be spotted in were shouting ‘ JUST FOR THE RAMP’, which made me think if she broke up wit her BFF , I mean if all goes wrong there is always your bestie who would point out what is wrong and weddings are something were your friends advice you the most.
She  is youthful quirky apparel designer and selecting the same quirky clothes to wear on her wedding was a bad decision from the start. Congratulations to the newly wed but I do wish Masaba had chosen for bridal clothing instead of trying to look different on her own wedding. Many other celebrities in attendance to the wedding celebrations wore better clothes than the bride and bridegroom!
Masaba in Anamika Khanna - Wedding Reception Outfit
masaba at her reception
Masaba Gupta reception
I love Anamika Khanna outfits but Masaba choose this hideous outfit from all those pretty Anamika Khanna designs for her reception! Everything about the look is wrong, the hair the bust fit , the jacket is worst !
And not the bridegroom won’t be spared either! He should have put in a little extra effort to look good on a reception. Black on black looks dull and its an outfit my brother would have chosen to wear at a family function , forget a  reception !

Masaba Gupta In her Own Designs – Bridal Shower Outfit
masabaaa
The outfit looked more of a party look than a bridal shower one. The polka dotted top with a retro effect was a downer itself and the pants look boxy on her. A total nay from us !
Masaba in Sanjay Garg – Sangeet Outift
Masaba at her sangeet
Masaba Gupta sangeet
The only outfit I found pretty was the one she donned on her Sangeet, maybe it’s the color, it looks pretty on her. The hairstyle could have been better but there is no doubt this is dream outfit for many .
Masaba Gupta in Her own designs- Mehendi Outfit
masaba gupta at mehendi
We would have preferred some color for a mehendi outing . The white kurti along with the matchy sharara (or is that a lehenga?) just don’t work here. But it is a nice outfit considering the other disastrous outfits she chose to wear.
What do you think of her clothes, are they fit for a bride ? Yay or a nay? tell us!
Until next time
Love
Najmun Nissa
