Nivea Lip Butter In Raspberry Rose Review .
November 08, 20150 Comments

Nivea lip butter

I have tried a lot of lip balms that have butter in them but a lip balm exclusively made and feels like butter from Nivea was a must try and I bought this one 4 months back and ever since I have been using it daily and here’s the review!

Nivea

I bought this online on flipkart along with caramel which I’ll be reviewing later. This is my favorite flavour among the lip butters as it leaves a light pink tint on lips!

This cutie comes in a tin packaging and consists of shea butter and almond oil which are great for moisturizing lips. The best part of this lip butter is their smell, so sweet! Raspberry rose  smells a lot like light rose along with tinges of raspberry, not artificial at all. I am sure many of them will lobe this for its smell!

These are easily portable and travel friendly. Packaged in small round tin tubs they are easy to open and close. Very helpful during winters when lips are chapped the most. The texture is thick but light when applied on the lips.

Beauty Obsession : Lip Crayons + Peek into my Collection
January 14, 20150 Comments
Lip Crayon obsession, My collection
The latest trend in lip products are lip crayons. What are they? Somewhere between a lip gloss and a lipstick they are packed in cute crayon forms and the best part with them is the ease of application
Lip Crayon obsession, My collection
I was introduced to them when  Clinique launched the Chubby sticks . The chubby sticks were priced really high and the not-so-great reviews meant I wasn’t getting them. Everything changed with the launch of just bitten balm stains by Revlon.  Revlons Lip crayons were priced pretty decently and had amazing staying power and colour pay off and I rushed get myself my first lip crayon In Rendezvous. I was amazed at how convenient they were to use , no lip brush or a lip liner was required and yet I got a bright even finish which wasn’t too gloopy like a gloss. Then began my obsession as I went on to buy more crayons in adore, darling, love sick, romantic and dint stop there. I ventured into other brands and brought a Loreal glam gloss and an Oriflame lip Impact crayon too.

Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in Crush
Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in Rendezvous
Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in Darling
Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in Adore
Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in Lovesick
Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in Romantic
L'Oreal Paris Balm Shine Balmy Gloss in Pomegranate Punch
Oriflame Lip Impact crayon in pink Impact

My Favorite ones still are Revlon Just bitten balm Stains which though are a bit pricey at 700 but they are totally worth the money giving an amazing staying power of around 6 hours and having 10 wearable shades to choose from. They arent very moisturizing so don’t think of them as a substitute to your lip balms.

Lip Crayon obsession, My collection

Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in Rendezvous is pure orange . This is my first orange lip colour and I love it but don’t realy use it much. If you want to try out an orange lip this could be your pick.,
Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in Darling is a light purlish pink which is perfect for everyday wear for soft make up look
Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in adore is a brown with red undertones which will suit all indian skin tones. Minty feel, glossy finish, amazing staying power , sleek packaging whats not to like? This is my most used crayon and  I recommend this gorgeous shade to everyone
.
Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in Lovesick is a fushcia pink which is not suitable for warm tones beauties. Fair skinned girls will love this
Lip Crayon obsession, My collection

Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in Crush is a Dark burgandy shade. Crush also could be addressed as a deep plum and has the most staying power. Not a favourite with me as I hate dark colours but if you like deep plums you should try this. This definitely will suit a great range of skin tones and makes for a great winter lip colour

Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in Romantic is a red with orange undertone. It will suit most indian skin tone and can be wore anywhere . another gorgeous shade I recommend to all. If you want to start with wearing red, romantic is your answer.

The LOreal Paris Balm shine Balmy gloss in Pomegranate Punch is a glossy maroon with some shimmer in it. This doesn’t have a very good staying power (about 2 hours)  but is very moisturizing and decently pigmented. It is priced just right at 400 INR and if you want to experiment with lip crayons this is the range to start from.

Oriflame Lip Impact Crayon in Pink Impact is a mauve glossy pink which is priced at 350 (could be brought for even less) . Frankly this was a huge disappointment for me as the crayon is too soft and melts away faster than. Add to it the need of sharpening and a not very impressive staying power of around 3 hours. I wouldn’t recommend this one even for the price. I actually use a lip brush to dig in product and apply on my lips as the normal jumbo  sharpener cant sharp it!

Why Am I obsessed with Lip Crayons?
  • Ease Of Use: I can apply it even without a mirror. A swipe and iam done. No need of a lip brush or lip pencil
  • Packaging: The packaging both cute and travel friendly. Adorably compact they are fun to use
  • Bid Bye to Sharpeners: There is no wastage because of sharpening as these crayons come in a twist up packaging. (But the oriflame one does need to be sharpened)
  • All in One gloss cum balm cum lipstick: Lip Crayons are the best thing of all lip products packaged into one. They are very moisturizing , stay for long and add decent colour too.
Other lip Crayons you could try (Also on my wish list )
  • Colorbar Take Me As I Am Stick Rs 800
  • Lakme Absolute lip Tints – Rs 900
  • Clinique Chubby Stick - Rs 1,300
  • Max Factor Colour Elixr Giant Pen Stick- Rs 675
  • Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayon - Rs 785.
  • Rimmel Lasting Finish Colour Rush Balm
  • NYX jumbo pencil
  • Inglot Matte Lip Crayons
  • Revlon colour burst Laquer Balms and Matte balms
Have you tried Lip Crayons yet? Which ones are your favourite?

Stay Beautiful
KJ.

Nivea Hydro Care Lip Balm Review
May 29, 20140 Comments
I have dry lips like I have been mentioning repeatedly in my posts and lip balms are ultra essential for me. I finished my Nivea fruity shine lip balm some time back and couldn’t find it in stock so I picked up another balm from Nivea known as hydro care
100_6579
Price : 145 INR

Nivea Hydro Care lip balm comes in a light blue twist up tube which is both hygienic and travel friendly. The balm is transparent , glides smoothly and adds nice natural sheen to lips. The texture is light weight and it moisturizes and hydrates my dry lips nicely.
I find this balm more moisturizing than the Nivea fruity shine balm but this adds no colour to lips. I have a feeling this balm kind of reduces the pigmentation of my lips a little bit and I love this balm for that as I have very pigmented lips.
 100_6578
Yays:
  • Moisturizes and hydrates lips leaving them soft and smooth
  • Affordable
  • Travel friendly and hygienic packaging
  • Mild scent
  • Easily available
  • Light weight
Nays:
  • May not heal very Dry chapped lips
Rating: ****/5

Verdict: It works great on my dry lips and I just love its light weight formula. Wish this had some colour, but I love it anyway. Id recommend this to all those looking for a colorless moisturizing lip balm.

Review: Maybelline Baby Lips Colour in Rose Addict
May 15, 20141 Comments

100_2192

I have dry lips, very dry lips and lip balms are a necessity for me. These blams from Maybelline are very hydrating and they heal chapped  lips in a jiffy.

Price: 150 INR for 4.3g

Rose Addict comes in a cute pink tube and the color payoff is not much. The balm gives sheer barely visible pink tint on lips but if you have dry lips you HAVE to get them. The texture is non sticky and makes for great everyday wear.

Yays:

  • Easily available
  • Heal, hydrates even super dry lips
  • Affordable
  • Travel friendly packaging
  • Has SPF 20

Nays:

  •   Too sheer, color will not show on pigmented lips

Verdict : Iam in love with this cute balm and they repair my dry chapped lips nicely. I do wish they were a bit more pigmented, yet Id recommend these balms to all girls out there who have dry lips

Friday Fives: 5 Reasons Why Nivea Fruity shine Lip Balm Rocks!
March 21, 20141 Comments
The Pigmentation: The biggest reason why I totally love this product is that its a tinted lip balm which gives a beautiful tint to my bare lips. It can be used as a nice substitute to lipglosses and lipsticks on a bad lip day! I totally LOVE the sheer punch of colour this lip balm gives!

The super moisturising formula: This lip balm is very moisturizing and effective for my chapped lips. I often use it to exfoliate my lips too.

The Chick Packaging: What's more! The twist-up packaging is very hygienic and stylish!

The Scent: Every flavour smells of the fruit its named after.

The Pricing: Inspite of it's awesomeness, it is decently priced at Rs 129/-

So, overall, it is a wonderful product by Nivea. A must buy!

P.S: The one in the picture is my fourth buy! I have tried, strawberry, pomegranate and cherry, all are lovely!! The flavours strawberry and Pomegranate have won my heart!
