Fuschia Arabian Jasmine Anti-ageing Night Cream Review and Swatch
May 03, 20150 Comments

I read a lot of beauty blogs and i have deep respect for bloggers who religiously put up empties post regularly. I can never do it because i seem to take ages (more like forever) to finish products or they just get expired and unfit for use . But miracle happened when i with the Loreal night cream (Review here) . I purchased this cream on a discount and this was expiring in 3 months so i decided to use only this religiously every night  and try to finish it before expiry. The result well i finished this cream in 2 months flat!
I had purchased the Loreal Night cream as an anti aging care and after this cream finished i decided to finally start with anti ageing regime and the Fuschia Arabian Jasmine Anti-ageing Night Cream  landed at my door step at an apt time. Now this Fuschia cream has replaced the loreal night cream and i have been using this cream for more than a month now and here i present to you my experience with it.

You cant avoid ageing but you can definitely delay it . Iam 25 and most skin experts say 25 is the right  time to start anti anti ageing regime and i have decided to start early and this is my first anti ageing cream.

Price: 675 for 50 gms
Shelf life: 30 months
Ingredients : Jasmine Oil, Olive Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Kokum Butter, Aloe Vera, Vitamin E and Biostine HP.
Packaged beautifully in a transparent tub with a screw cap the Fuschia Arabian Jasmine Anti-ageing Night Cream comes with 3 cute paper cards which has details like ingredients, how to use  and directions to use  printed on it. all the printed cards and tub is put in a cute chiffon bag which makes for a great gift . The packaging is different and adds to the natural organic feel but the  instructions could easily be lost this way . i wish the instruction labels were  punched and attched to the neck og the bottle so we wouldn't loose it that soon.
The the anti ageing cream is whitish cream in colour with thick consistency and tiny granules. Ithas subtle jasmine fragrance which  lingers on for a while and has a calming effect at night . The cream though thick gets easily absorbed into skin with light massaging and  leaves my face soft and supple without even a hint of greasy or stickiness.
The results are pretty instant and just after about 2 weeks of use my skin feels  bright and tighter . every morning i wake up to soft and hydrated  glowing skin and even my pigmentation  has improved. About the anti ageing thing i cant really comment much because i dont have any signs of ageing to start with. But overall this is a nice night cream which people of all ages can try.
The cream of course is a pricey affair at 675 INR but its is natural and  paraben free so I don't mind paying extra also for the results it provides the price is totally worth it. Also, I need just a little bit of cream to cover my entire face and after a months use half the tub still remains. So a tub will easily last you 2 months.
I do wish this came in a more hygienic packaging like a tube or a bottle with nozzle.

The Goods:
  • Subtle jasmine fragrance which lingers for a while
  • Makes skin soft , supple and hydrates
  • 100% Natural, SLS and Paraben free
  • Thick creamy texture which isnt greasy or sticky
  • cute packaging with small labels, chiffon bag and tub.
  • Handmade
  • Brightens skin and repairs cells
The Bads:
  • The tub packaging in unhygienic
  • Pricey (but it is natural and works great on my skin so justified )
  • Available only online
BlingSparkle Rating: ★★★★/5

Final Verdict: I am totally loving my skin these days all thanks to the Fuschia Arabian Jasmine Anti-ageing Night Cream. If you love natural and organic stuff this cream is your best night cream / anti ageing cream.

5 Simple and Effective DIY Home Remedies to try
December 26, 20140 Comments
It has been a while since a friday five was featured in here but here I am bringing you a beauty and skin care edition of fab fives.

All of us pamper our skin with luxurious skin care products to keep our skin glowing, nourished and beautiful . But these products have an overload of chemicals which is best avoided. Including some inexpensive home made DIY beauty remedies in your beauty regime is always a good idea.
I am big time lazy and Do It  Yourself stuff is just not for me, but ive discovered some very easy and effective remedies which involve easily available stuff from the kitchen. Do try them
Lip scrub :
Brown sugar+ Almond oil + Honey
I mix the three in a spoon and scrub, wash, exfoliating done. Try this once a week and you will never have to buy any lip scrub ever. But make sure almond oil you use is 100% organic. you can even replace almond oil with jojoba oil.
Detan with a Tomato:
This one is the easiest of all. Just slice a tomato and and rub on your face and neck for a good five minutes and done. Do this every second day for a glowing tan free skin. You can top the tomato  slice with a little yoghurt for better results, but that’s a bit too much work for lazy bums like me! Also I am too busy to try this every second day . But this works like charm
Besan Face pack:
This works well for dry skin . Mix almont oil , a pinch of turmeric and besan and apply on face for moisturized skin. Wash off after it is dry (15 minutes or so)
Banana and almond oil hair mask:
Mash up a banana and mix with one tablespoon of almond oil. Massage this mixture into hair , especially the ends  and leave for 30 minutes. Was for smooth soft hair. This mask helps protect natural elasticity of hair and locks in the moisture. I do this in winter.
Condition hair with Warm coconut oil:
This isnt really a DIY as such but I use virgin coconut oil religiously to tame my dry hair. Coconut oil deep conditions and moisturizes hair like no other serum can. I oil my hair with warm coconut oil and leave it overnight for best results. Apart from adding shine and stength to my hair coconut oil also acts like a soothing balm for me relieving stress.
These are real simple DIY remedies I recommend to all. Do try incorporating these in your beauty regime and cut down on pimples.

Stay beautiful

The Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter Review
July 27, 20140 Comments

100_2471

Iam not a very big fan of The body shop cosmetics but when it comes to skin care I totally adore them. The Body Shop has crafted a nature loving,  cruelty free image for itself which makes me enjoy their products more. Their body butters are a huge hit and today iam reviewing the strawberry body butter for you here.

Price :1095 INR for 200ml

Shelf Life: 36 months

Packaging: The Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter come in a travel friendly plastic Round tub with a screw lid. The Tub has a nice feminine touch to it coming in  maroon-red colour and having photos of yummy strawberries on the sticker.

Fragrance: The Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter is pretty heavily scented with delicious strawberry ish fruity type of smell which lingers on for quite sometime after application

The texture is very thick and the butter is pale pinkish in colour. The body butter moisturizes and hydrates skin nicely leaving it soft and supple . I like that there isnt any kind of sticky or a greasy feeling post application as it get absorbed pretty quickly into the skin.

100_2472

If you love strawberries and have normal to dry skin then this is definitely for you. On the flip I do think this is a pricey affair but considering how little is needed in one application you can buy this. Considering I brought this at 50% off it is a value deal for me, The body shop is having a 50% off sale even now, If you are planning to buy this, go grab them NOW!

Verdict: Overall I think this is a great product for normal skinned beauties as it hydrates and moisturizes skin and the fragrance which lingers on for hours is an added bonus.

Friday Fives: Five ways to use raw Aloe Vera gel
May 30, 20140 Comments
Another week flies by and her Iam with another edition of Friday Fives. This week it All about Aloe Vera.
Aloe Vera is a miracle plant, it has so many different benefits of beauty and is often used in cosmetics industry. I like to use fresh Aloe Vera gel  directly taken from the leaf of Aloe Vera plant which is potted in my back yard.
DSC00637
Here are five ways in which you can use the raw Aloe Vera gel.
As a moisturizer: Aloe Vera is a great moisturizer, it hydrates , rejuvenates and softens skin. Just apply a layer of raw gel right on to your face and wash off after 15 minutes
Healer for Burns and scars: Aloe Vera helps cure burns because it is calming and cooling. It also helps in reducing scars. My friend had burnt her hand in kitchen pretty badly and she used aloe Vera on her burn, it healed very rapidly.
For Hair: Aloe Vera acts as a great conditioner and seals hair cuticles. Use Aloe Vera gel instead of a conditioner and see your hair glow
As a make up remover : Aloe Vera gel works as a great make up remover. Just drop a little gel on cotton ball and wipe away
For treating acne: Aloe Vera has Anti-bacterial properties which helps in clearing acne. Just apple the gel onto acne twice a day.

Aloe Vera with its many benefits is a great plant to have in your garden. I recommend you get a plant soon.
Btw if you already use Aloe Vera gel in different forms than listed here please mention in comments

XOXO

Dabur Gulbari Pearl Fairness Moisturizer Review
May 26, 20140 Comments
100B3956
Price: 40 for 50 ml (10 Rs off)
I love  Dabur gulabari’s gulab jal (see here) and when I spotted this cutely packed Dabur Gulabari Pearl Fairness Moisturizer with Saffron and Turmeric I grabbed it.
I love the packaging, pink white combo looks chic and the pink  switch cap to remove the product is nice too.
100B3967
The moisturizing lotion is nice baby pink in colour and smells heavily of roses, sensitive noses beware. The moisturizer lotion is lightweight, non greasy and blends into skin easily. It moisturizes my dry skin nicely and adds a bit of glow to my face , but I have no idea about its fairness claims.
100B3960
Yays:
  • Affordable
  • Cute packaging
  • Moisturizes dry skin and adds glow
  • Lightweight non greasy formula
Nays:
  • The rose smell is a bit over powering
Rating: ****/5
Verdict:  This is a nice economical moisturizer to try especially if you don’t have a sensitive nose.

Review: Lotus Herbals Basiltone Toner
February 23, 20140 Comments

100_5155
I have dry skin but I don’t follow the toning routine religiously and when I do tone occasionally it is with rose water. when I spotted this basiltone toner I was tempted to try it solely for its packaging. The spray dispenser, I Like Love.
100_5156
Price: Rs 185 for 100 ml
This toner is for combination and oily skin types but it not dry out my dry skin and just two pumps was enough to cover my face and neck. Most of the times I don’t use cotton I spray this toner directly on my face and feel refreshed , but I hate the vegetablish smell which goes away after some time. I so miss my gulab jal which has lovely fragrance.
All that aside this light green toner does remove dirt and gives a fresh sensation after sparying it  but it  does nothing for my pores

100_5157
The Pluses:
  • Packaging, sturdy and travel friendly.
  • affordable
  • Easily available
  • Alcohol free
The minuses:
  • The fragrance, I hate it
  • contains parabeans , not a problem for me though
  • Does noting for the pores
Verdict: Overall I think this is a good value for money Toner for Oily or  combination skinned beauties. Girls with dry skin should avoid it, otherwise fabulous travel friendly toner.
