Nivea Lip Butter In Raspberry Rose Review .
November 08, 20150 Comments

Nivea lip butter

I have tried a lot of lip balms that have butter in them but a lip balm exclusively made and feels like butter from Nivea was a must try and I bought this one 4 months back and ever since I have been using it daily and here’s the review!

Nivea

I bought this online on flipkart along with caramel which I’ll be reviewing later. This is my favorite flavour among the lip butters as it leaves a light pink tint on lips!

This cutie comes in a tin packaging and consists of shea butter and almond oil which are great for moisturizing lips. The best part of this lip butter is their smell, so sweet! Raspberry rose  smells a lot like light rose along with tinges of raspberry, not artificial at all. I am sure many of them will lobe this for its smell!

These are easily portable and travel friendly. Packaged in small round tin tubs they are easy to open and close. Very helpful during winters when lips are chapped the most. The texture is thick but light when applied on the lips.

Beauty review

Pay day Purchases for August: Makeup, Jewelry & Bag haul!
September 16, 20150 Comments

IMG_20150913_164119633 (3)

August was a very long month of hot weather and hard work. The wait for payday stretches out in front of you and the weather sucks to such an extent that you sweat even in air conditioning. Have I made enough excuses for splurging on some new products yet? I did a little bit of travelling in August and the work load seemed to double up once I returned back home! I think now that the month has come to an end it does call for some treats up my sleeve and what better way to celebrate my payday time so I went shopping :D ! ;)

Bags

Lengloy sling bag pink Diana Korr Flipkart

My first visit was to my beloved Flipkart.com to pick up a sling bag which I was in real need off . I’ll tell you the reason behind the purchase of this sling bag. I added a sling bag on my wish list ever since my previously loved and million times used E20 sling bag’s chain broke off :’( and I had to purchase a replacement asap to subside the pain of losing a fav sling bag :P . I bought this cute sling bag in pink color but the brand Lengloy sent me a damaged product for which I got a replacement in no time. So no complaints here, I am totally loving my new bag buy!

With the sale, and a cheeky extra discount on the Flipkart app I got this spoil baby for just INR 599! *Yay*

Jewelry

Ethnic accessory

My shopping is incomplete if I have not splurged on a beautiful pair of earrings and guess what I ended up buying two of them this time, blame the weather ! ha ! :p

Bangles for every occassion

Next I splurged upon some ethnic bling bangles! My favorite ethnic accessory ! The first set of bangles is a box of colorful plastic studded bangles to match with every rain and rainbow outfit of mine :P I already received a dozen compliments while they were on my slim wrists ;) So super yay to them! I bought them from a store in a place called Mohammadi near Lucknow city! Now you know why they are so pretty ! The other set of bangles in light pink and white were just a random buy and I can hardly wait to flaunt them !

Since I indulged in a lot of travelling in August I got the chance to pick up some finest products across the places I travelled. My next purchase was double linked two finger rings in gold and silver. They are a unique set of stretch rings and I can’t wait to flaunt them on a festive event! Every woman should own these pieces of statement jewellery in their style wardrobe!

Hair clip studded shop

My last buy in the jewellery sec included a beautiful bow shaped white stone studded hair holder clip from Lucknow ! It was love at first sight for this one. A jeweled hair accessory you are often going to see me flaunting :D

All of the jewellery I bought can be worn separately on simple occasions or even at weddings and parties !

Makeup

Cheeky glow, Lakme absolute, Nivea

It’s the season of chapped lips hence my next purchase was two lip balms from my favorite lip balm brand Nivea ! These two (Pomegranate and Cherry) along with peach are my 3 favorite lip balms from Nivea’s #BFF new range of lip balms (reviews of the lip balms coming up in the next post)! I also bought a Maybelline Cheeky glow blush which was on my wish list from a very long time from now. My next buy in the makeup section was Lakme Shine Line Black Eyeliner from Lakme’s Absolute range. I had heard good reviews about it and bought it on a sale of 25% off on Amazon.in

Hair care

My next purchase was a roots comb as my previous roots comb accidentally broke and I had to replace it with a new one. I also bought a random comb to brush my wet hair after bathing.

Traditional trend accessory: Latkans

Traditional accessories

My purchases would be incomplete if I din’t splurge on a pair of latkans ! No guessing here, I ended up buying three pairs ! All so beautiful ! You can read more about latkans here.

The month of August was a promising one and I am happy to have shopped for some of the most blingy and lovely things ! Hopefully September turns out to be as good as August !

Haul review

What about you ? Did you shop to your heart’s content the previous month? temme!

Dove Hair Therapy- Daily Shine Shampoo Review
September 10, 20150 Comments

Shampoo review Dove

I have thin hair and face a lot of hairfall problems hence I am very selective when it comes to choosing the right shampoo for my hair. I was previously using Tresemme Shampoo but I wanted to give Dove hair therapy after watching a lot of their adds on Youtube.

The switching part is definitely the scary part where I imagine a billion things going wrong on shifting from one shampoo to other. But I am thankful that Dove daily shine hasn’t harmed my hair in anyway and has showed good results in the past few weeks of me using it.

Dove shampoo review

Direction for Use:- Apply to wet hair, lather, rinse and repeat.  For best results, use daily with Dove conditioner.

Ingredients:

Dove shampoo ingredients

My experiences with Dove Daily Shine Shampoo

This shampoo turned out to be a nice one to wash off dirt and dust off my hair on a regular basis. I can say eversince I started using this shampoo I can see my hair actually shine ! yes ! And I ended up recommending it to my friends!

Fragrance: I love shampoos that leave a fragrance that would last for a few hours even after its rinsed off and dove daily shine is one such shampoo. It smells good!

Price: INR 420 for 650 ml. ( I bought it for a lower price of INR 378 on amazon.in ;))

Availability: Available at all online stores and local stores nearby my home.

Shelf Life: 36 months !

Packaging : I like it that it doesn’t have a flip cap as I hate it that I have to open up such a huge bottle everytime I want to shampoo my hair!

Best shampoo dove

Pros:

1. Good for everyday use.

2. Nice fragrance

3. Awesome packaging

4. Priced reasonably

5. Easily available

6.Softer and shinier hair

7.No damage done to hair

8. No hairfall after using it

Cons:

1. Need a lot of the product to rinse off hair oil from hair. I had to use a lot more shampoo than I do to rinse off dirt and oil from my hair. Other than this I couldn’t find any con!

Daily shine for hair dove shampoo

BlingSparkle.com rating: 3.9/5

Recommendations: If you want a good to-go shampoo at your service everyday I suggest you buy this one and say hello to beautiful and shiny hair!

Shopping, Dressing ,De-tanning & Wedding Bliss!
July 07, 20150 Comments
De-tan cream review
Its been long since I wrote a blog post for which I can blame my BFF’s wedding ! Yes ! :D My BFF tied knot this month and it was one hell of a celebration! Dhannu and I are friends since college and I helped her in everything ! Every single thing- From makeup artist to mehendi artist & from choosing the right outfit to using the right products to get that extra bride wala glow , everything ! To be truthful it felt like I was running around shopping and making preparations for my own wedding :P The wedding was a fun filled affair among friends and family. It wasn’t a posh destination wedding but I swear it was a wedding I am going to remember for the warmth, fun and happiness for a long time from now.
IMG_20150630_161400392
So did I say we did a lot of shopping ? Shopping for shoes, accessories, ethnic jewellery, gold, lehengas and gowns, chudas, makeup, bags etc ;) Since most of the pre wedding celebrations included shopping you must have guessed the amount of tan we both would have got :/ Imagine waiting for a girl to choose her fuchsia pink lehenga’s matching wala bindi on a street at 1 pm O.O It was not an easy task getting Dhannu dolled up. She craves for perfection and we both had to make sure everything was intact and nothing went wrong on the Big day.
wedding bliss
The wedding took place in Mangalore and I had no clue about any reputed parlor stationed there. I had to zero upon any local parlor around the place I was to stay during the wedding . It so happened that the bride left for Mangalore 3 days before the marriage was to take place and I couldn’t go with her as I was tied up with work . So it was a mushy affair of boarding the train and reaching Mangalore the night before the wedding. Poor me was pressed for time with no time to visit the parlor.
Spin Sun Tan remover cream
I am pro with makeup and needed a simple facial for the instant glow before the big day. That is when I started to hyperventilate and the the bride , my BFF turned superwoman and took me to a drug store and bought Spinz De-tan Wash off cream. She went on to say that it was a new product which she had heard good reviews from her cousins present at the wedding celebrations and asked me to try it out. At first I was like how can a non bleach cream give me an instant glow but later on I had to give it try I had zero options left and ever since that SPINZ has been my best buddy ! It saved me.
spinz sun tan removal cream
Price: INR 89 for 50gm.
Spin Sun Tan remover cream
Shelf life: 2 Years
Directions To Use:
Spin Sun Tan remover cream
All I had to do was follow the instructions on the box and guess what, five minutes just DAMN FIVE MINUTES and my face was glowing ! Hell yeah ! B) All I had to do was a tie my hair in a band , I took out the required amount of cream and gently massaged it all around my face and neck area and let it off for 5 minutes before washing it out. I made sure I din’t apply the cream on my eye contours. The moment I washed my face and looked into the mirror, the result was clearly evident and my face looked like I just had an expensive facial done at a salon!:D Dhannu , the bride to be stood there with her mouth open and tell you what she went straight into the bathroom and was out after 6 minutes with instant glowing face . Both of us were amazed by the awesomeness of the magic spun by Spinz . My face felt so soft and had a natural glow and not a single sight of tan was visible, so much that I used it again the next day before stepping out for reception. *Grinning* I looked like a princess on the reception day .My BFF got teary when someone stated that I and the bride were glowing with joy and happiness and looked like sisters.
Me and my BFF were overflowed with compliments .There were girls who asked us that after loads and loads of shopping under the sun on Bangalore streets howcome we both managed to look so radiant . All of them wanted to know which salon we had our facial done but we were hell bent on not revealing the secret behind the glow on our faces ;)
The theme for the reception was fairytale and we both looked every bit of princess , thanks to Spinz Iam saying yes to#SpinzBanTheTan ! :D
Spin Sun Tan remover cream
Have you used it yet? If not , you must do ! I recommend it to everyone as it suitable for both men and women and is even applicable for sensitive skin :D

Plum Goodness Angel Eyes Kohl and Hello Aloe Caring Day Moisturizer Bundle Review
March 22, 20150 Comments
A good moisturizer is a must for every woman. It protects your skin and gives it the right treatment it deserves! I am a fan of organic products made up of at least 80% natural ingredients. Products made up of harsh chemicals have never worked for my skin and have left my skin with breakages and damage. Therefore, I am always on the look out for products made up of organic, 'sensitive-skin-friendly' ingredients.
Luckily, I happened to come across this amazing moisturizer, kajal and sharpener trio on Plum Goodness's website. The trio looked so pretty and promising that I knew I had to try them out!

I was impressed by the speedy delivery by this website. The package arrived all bubble wrapped and safe inside a well-packed box. My first impression on seeing its contents was "cool".

All of the three products turned out to be way more awesome and effective than I had expected them to be!

Plum Goodness Day Moisturizer:
To start with, this is my favourite product out of the trio. It simply works like magic for my sensitive skin which is prone to breakouts. It's a day moisturiser, but I find myself applying it sometimes before sleeping too. It has that cooling effect which is not present in other moisturisers in my wardrobe.

The texture is smooth and flowy. It's more like a body lotion with more moisturising features. The best part is it's 100% organic with Aloe extracts. That's what gives the cooling effect I guess.
All the ingredients and directions to use are mentioned on the outer box packaging and behind the actual product too. The packaging is travel-friendly thanks to the tight cap which acts as a closure. A little goes a long way! Bottom line, it does what it claims, very effectively at that!

Cons:
None!

Coming to the kajal, I have more sensitive skin in my eye area. Only 5% of the best eye products in the market suit me. Even the best of kajals like the Eyeconic have caused irritation in my eyes so I have stopped using any kajal at all :/
I was sceptical about trying out this one but as it claims it's 100% organic, I went ahead and tried it out.
They were three things I totally loved about this kajal:
1) It did not sting on my waterline!
2) Blackest of black colour on one swipe
3) Didn't give me Panda eyes!

Cons:
None!

As shown in the swatch, you can see that how dark and blackest black the kajal is on only one swipe. I am in love with that sharpener! It's simply too CUTE! :D
Price: 795/-  (for the whole bundle)
Availability: These are an 'online-only' range of products by Plum Goodness.
Plus point: All products are free of harmful chemicals!

Bling Sparkle Rating:
Hello Aloe Caring Day Moisturizer: 5/5
Plum Goodness Angel Eyes Kohl: 4.5/5
Plum Goodness sharpener: 5/5

Overall, I am totally in love with this combo bundle! They are a pretty amazing set of organic cosmetics at a steal worthy price! If a product is good, you like it. If it's pricing is good, then you like it more. This is exactly what happened here. I totally love all these products which are paraben free and harmful chemicals free. They totally suit my sensitive skin and make sure it's pampered! I totally recommend this amazing brand to all you folks! You can buy their products from their website here.

Now for the good news, we love these products so much that we have decided to giveaway a similar hamper. Awesome right? :) Yes, you can win these awesome products for yourself soon. Stay connected!

Love,
~Bushra

Beauty Obsession : Lip Crayons + Peek into my Collection
January 14, 20150 Comments
Lip Crayon obsession, My collection
The latest trend in lip products are lip crayons. What are they? Somewhere between a lip gloss and a lipstick they are packed in cute crayon forms and the best part with them is the ease of application
Lip Crayon obsession, My collection
I was introduced to them when  Clinique launched the Chubby sticks . The chubby sticks were priced really high and the not-so-great reviews meant I wasn’t getting them. Everything changed with the launch of just bitten balm stains by Revlon.  Revlons Lip crayons were priced pretty decently and had amazing staying power and colour pay off and I rushed get myself my first lip crayon In Rendezvous. I was amazed at how convenient they were to use , no lip brush or a lip liner was required and yet I got a bright even finish which wasn’t too gloopy like a gloss. Then began my obsession as I went on to buy more crayons in adore, darling, love sick, romantic and dint stop there. I ventured into other brands and brought a Loreal glam gloss and an Oriflame lip Impact crayon too.
Lip Crayon obsession, My collection

Lip Crayon obsession, My collection
Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in Crush
Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in Rendezvous
Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in Darling
Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in Adore
Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in Lovesick
Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in Romantic
L'Oreal Paris Balm Shine Balmy Gloss in Pomegranate Punch
Oriflame Lip Impact crayon in pink Impact

My Favorite ones still are Revlon Just bitten balm Stains which though are a bit pricey at 700 but they are totally worth the money giving an amazing staying power of around 6 hours and having 10 wearable shades to choose from. They arent very moisturizing so don’t think of them as a substitute to your lip balms.

Lip Crayon obsession, My collection

Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in Rendezvous is pure orange . This is my first orange lip colour and I love it but don’t realy use it much. If you want to try out an orange lip this could be your pick.,
Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in Darling is a light purlish pink which is perfect for everyday wear for soft make up look
Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in adore is a brown with red undertones which will suit all indian skin tones. Minty feel, glossy finish, amazing staying power , sleek packaging whats not to like? This is my most used crayon and  I recommend this gorgeous shade to everyone
.
Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in Lovesick is a fushcia pink which is not suitable for warm tones beauties. Fair skinned girls will love this
Lip Crayon obsession, My collection

Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in Crush is a Dark burgandy shade. Crush also could be addressed as a deep plum and has the most staying power. Not a favourite with me as I hate dark colours but if you like deep plums you should try this. This definitely will suit a great range of skin tones and makes for a great winter lip colour

Revlon Just Bitten balm stain  in Romantic is a red with orange undertone. It will suit most indian skin tone and can be wore anywhere . another gorgeous shade I recommend to all. If you want to start with wearing red, romantic is your answer.

The LOreal Paris Balm shine Balmy gloss in Pomegranate Punch is a glossy maroon with some shimmer in it. This doesn’t have a very good staying power (about 2 hours)  but is very moisturizing and decently pigmented. It is priced just right at 400 INR and if you want to experiment with lip crayons this is the range to start from.

Oriflame Lip Impact Crayon in Pink Impact is a mauve glossy pink which is priced at 350 (could be brought for even less) . Frankly this was a huge disappointment for me as the crayon is too soft and melts away faster than. Add to it the need of sharpening and a not very impressive staying power of around 3 hours. I wouldn’t recommend this one even for the price. I actually use a lip brush to dig in product and apply on my lips as the normal jumbo  sharpener cant sharp it!

Why Am I obsessed with Lip Crayons?
  • Ease Of Use: I can apply it even without a mirror. A swipe and iam done. No need of a lip brush or lip pencil
  • Packaging: The packaging both cute and travel friendly. Adorably compact they are fun to use
  • Bid Bye to Sharpeners: There is no wastage because of sharpening as these crayons come in a twist up packaging. (But the oriflame one does need to be sharpened)
  • All in One gloss cum balm cum lipstick: Lip Crayons are the best thing of all lip products packaged into one. They are very moisturizing , stay for long and add decent colour too.
Other lip Crayons you could try (Also on my wish list )
  • Colorbar Take Me As I Am Stick Rs 800
  • Lakme Absolute lip Tints – Rs 900
  • Clinique Chubby Stick - Rs 1,300
  • Max Factor Colour Elixr Giant Pen Stick- Rs 675
  • Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayon - Rs 785.
  • Rimmel Lasting Finish Colour Rush Balm
  • NYX jumbo pencil
  • Inglot Matte Lip Crayons
  • Revlon colour burst Laquer Balms and Matte balms
Have you tried Lip Crayons yet? Which ones are your favourite?

Stay Beautiful
KJ.

Beauty Blunders (Makeup mistakes) – Part I
November 27, 20140 Comments

We know that bad makeup (occasionally) happens to the best of us. Makeup is something women buy so they can make the whole thing flawless but when when they end up committing mistakes it can actually hide their natural beauty. Which is so not cool.

I'm sure you know (or at least think you know) what you're doing in terms of beauty tips and tricks. But you'd be surprised to find out that some of things you're doing might be causing more harm than good. You might be damaging your hair, causing split-ends, causing frizz and dryness without even knowing it! Here are some mistakes that you might be doing to beautify yourself:

Well there plenty of mistakes we might end up making and I’ll be posting hopefully most of them in the next few blogposts .

When it comes to looking after your hair and beauty, you might know what to do and what to use, but do you know what not to do? Here are some of the beauty blunders you may inadvertently be making.

Sleeping with makeup on:
You might have just returned from a party all tired and exhausted or back from work late night but hey there are no excuses for going to bed with your makeup on! This is by far the biggest mistake most women tend to make ! If you want to keep your face healthy and beautiful, make sure to wash off that makeup before you go to sleep. Not doing so can make your skin breakout, prone to allergies , dry and acne & pimples.Well it’s the reason you have makeup wipes out there! Or you could go the Johnson and Johnson's baby oil route followed with facewash. Just a few minutes spent cleaning your face could save you from some big problems down the road. Always remember, though, that practice makes perfect, and a great look requires work and attention to detail.

Too much blush:
Excessive use of blush might end up making you look like a clown. No really ! Avoid dabbing blusher on the apples of the cheekbones, unless you want to look flushed or hot *wink*. Instead pick a simple, neutral hued blush and using a large blusher brush, sweep it across the highest point of the cheekbones for an instant facelift. Trust me blushes should complement your natural blush tone !

Choosing the Wrong Foundation Color :
A wrong foundation color results in a creating a disaster. This is also the most commonly made mistake by most of the Indian women. They try harsher and whiter foundation even though their skin tone is dusky making them look cakey or aged. hence its important you avoid selecting the wrong foundation and concealer shade. Always pick a color that will match the skin tone, anything darker looks fake and anything lighter will leave you looking washed out and ghostly. Pick the SAME shade as your skin tone. I repeat always go for the exact skin shade.
You might have beautiful skin and the right application technique but that may not fetch you the look of a Greek goddess if you use the wrong foundation.

Using Makeup that's Not Age-Appropriate : A very common mistake most younger women tend to make is to apply makeup in a way that's not age-appropriate. For example, makeup with glitter isn't suitable for older women. Similarly, girls in their teens should avoid smearing on too much makeup because it can make them look much older.

Drawing attention to every part of the face:
Not being aware of the right makeup tricks might get you to over emphasizing features of your face. Most of the women strive for the look of smoky eyes, full pouting lips or chiseled cheekbones, but these looks should never be incorporated all at the same time. Choose one look to emphasize your best feature and use it to play up your beauty in a classic and defining way that will set you apart from the crowd, but won’t end up making you look out f the place.
Also this is something I found on pinterest and could not resist sharing it with you’ll.

Until next time. Take care.

Haul Time! - Lakme
March 15, 20141 Comments
If there is any range of cosmetics by Lakme I instantly fell in love with, it is the 'Absolute range'! Everything from the kajals to the nail paints is impressive! A few days back I got a chance to lay my hands on some awesome products from Lakme. Here are the pics and their short reviews:
All the three shades are lovely. Love the pastel limited edition one and the coral one the most! Everything from their packaging to the real product is wonderful about these nail paints.

This is a lovely mascara with a good staying power of 6-7 hours but it's not waterproof.
This shade of Lakme lipstick turned out to be a bit too dark for my likes. It's lying in my drawer untouched.
.
This is one shade I absolutely loved. It's hot fuchsia pink.

The Eyeconic kajal is most favorite product <3 It's simply AWESOME, and the violet eyeliner is lovely too!

Street Wear Double Scoop Lip Gloss and Glitter in 'Fruitalicious' Review
March 14, 20140 Comments
Every teen has this first time cosmetic usage stage ! And this lip gloss by Revlon was my very first one !
The time I bought I was so sure I would finish it off within a few weeks that I had already imagined buying 2 more of these in other flavors !

Alas, I used it only thrice *sad face* . I stopped using it the very next minute I got my hands on a much better staying power wala lip gloss.

Revlon street wear fruitalacious
It was a favorite in my teens . I bought it from a Cosmetic store which was opened newly at Big bazaar.

Quantity :3.9 grams (glitter) + 4 grams (gloss).
Price :INR 120 (It cost me more! YES But I don’t remember how much *scratches head* )
Packaging : 2 tubs . One with the glitter and the other with the gloss. A thick layer of plastic underneath the product makes it a tad too heavy ! *eye roll* . Also application with fingers dipping and re dipping is not my types.

Ingredients : NOT mentioned.

Staying power and pigmentation : The glitter lasts for about 30 minutes to 1 hour , the gloss for 1 hour and the glitter+gloss for about 30 to 40 minutes depending on how many times you eat.  A lip swatch is a waste of time all you can see is a layer of purple Vaseline , for some reason, I just hated the glitter part.Street wear Fruitalicious revuew
It is a cute lip gloss for teenagers who step newly into the make up world. I would NOT recommend it for women aged 20+ !
I loved the concept of double scoop..
20140207_143033
Yay’s:
  • Cute packaging. (Thankfully the glitter and the product are in two different tubs!)
  • The gloss looks cute even without the glitter
  • Feminine fragrance #Ilike
  • Smooth and soft on application.
  • Gives a cute glowing purple color when swatched 4-5 times.
  • I like the name , Its kinda cute *wink*
  • If you are lucky enough to finish the product ,you can reuse the tub to store a home made lip balm *Kbye.*
Nay’s:
  • Absolutely no staying power at all!
  • This being my first lip gloss ended up creating a mind set that glosses have no staying power during my teenage years! *Boohoo*
  • Unhygienic!
  • Insanely stickyyyyyyyyyyy!
  • The glitter is a waste of space and money ! WASTE ! I didn't use it even once.Tralalalala
  • The packaging is heavy and not travel friendly.
  • Reapplication is an issue for me ! Hence it’s a BIG con for me.
Revlon street wear

Also they are now discontinued (Guessing) . If you want to buy it please don’t waste time you will end up with an expired product .LOL.

Rating:
2/5

Availability: You can still buy them on Ebay. (Yes yes guessing guessing) They are available in 3 different shades
Flirtalicious,Limealicious and Coffeelicious.

Will I repurchase it?
I will, once I finish of this one first, which is possible only if I use it on a regular basis.LOL joking I am not purchasing this ever.
